Regarding the four foods such as wheat, when practicing methods such as treasure and essence extraction through the door of six deities, recite the heart mantra one million times and the near-heart mantra three million times, etc. No matter how much is recited, one-tenth must be used for fire offerings. It is said in the scriptures that this is for the perfect period, and the commentary also explains and quotes it this way. The commentary also says that reciting one million or two million times, etc., is for the perfect period, so it must be recited twice as much. It will be clearly stated when practicing accomplishment, but it is not stated that it should be recited before performing the mandala ritual, and other reliable mandala rituals do not state that it should be done this way. Some people think that empowerment is to eliminate the disciples' sins, increase merits, subdue obstacles, etc., so it is the time to practice pacifying, increasing, etc. This statement is unreasonable. If this is the case, then all the recitations and meditations when initially practicing recitation also have these necessities, so these also become the time to practice accomplishment, which contradicts the many times mentioned in the scriptures that recitation comes first, and then the practice of accomplishment. Regarding the classification of recitation, Warrior Vajra (dpa' bo rdo rje) said three types, namely, sign recitation: seeing signs such as smoke by performing four-session yoga; time recitation: meditating for a year, half a year, or four months; number recitation: the main deity recites one million times, and the retinue recites one hundred thousand times, whichever is recited is fine. However, Lawapa (lwa ba pa) said: "The wheel king's million recitations, the mandala practitioner is also like that, one hundred thousand." As he said, through recitation, obtain the signs of the deities, or purify and stabilize one's own mind, this is the previous recitation. That is to say, through number recitation and deity yoga, one must obtain the signs given by the deities, or obtain a pure mind that is stable in deity yoga. Auspicious Holder (dpal 'dzin) also said the same. Therefore, neither having obtained the gift of the deities nor having completed the number of recitations, it is unreasonable to say that it is okay to meditate in any of the three times such as a year. There are two types of sign recitation, namely, the deities give

If the signs (of practice) do not appear, even if the signs of a pure mind appear, one should complete the number of recitations. As Nagarjuna (kLu byang) said, one should fill the box solemnly and write after finding the signs. This also indicates that one should abide in mantra recitation. In the "Four Hundred Verses," it is also said: "Abiding in the wheel, reciting according to the Dharma, and writing correctly after obtaining the signs." Therefore, both are required. Recitation means that during each session of yoga, one should not be distracted, abandon idle talk, and practice according to the methods described in the recitation manuals. Counting casually during breaks between sessions is not allowed, as will be explained later. Regarding the method of recitation, in the place where the mandala is performed, one should make a mandala, place perfume drops, bouquets of flowers, etc., and recite after visualizing the Dharma protectors, as Prajñāśrī said. If Vajrabhairava (འཇིགས་བྱེད་) arises involuntarily, one should recite many times and think that one has received permission from the deity, and it is permissible to do so. Some also believe that visualizing a hero identical to the deity is also acceptable. These statements have no reliable basis, so they are not necessary and should not be done. Some Tibetan lamas also say that one should perform vase generation or front generation and then recite. However, many reliable scholars, such as Marme Zangpo (Mar me mdzad bzang po), have not specifically mentioned methods other than the visualization recitation described in the context of direct perception. Therefore, in general, the deity's visualization recitation should be performed in four sessions. There is no difference between performing visualization recitation in four sessions for the purpose of empowerment, etc. Some Tibetan lamas believe that even in one mandala, one can complete the number of recitations by taking turns giving empowerments. However, if one performs a visualization recitation once as described earlier, that is sufficient. However, since the close practice of visualization recitation has preceded, it is also necessary to observe dreams and obtain permission or not be prohibited when giving empowerment. For deities In different mandalas, it is obvious that visualization recitation must be performed separately. For cases like Vajrabhairava (rdo rje 'jigs byed), where visualization recitation can be performed with the same hero as the deity, except for this case, complete visualization recitation should be performed for the main deity and the retinue. The fourth part is divided into two points: indicating the time to perform the ritual and the order in which to perform the ritual. The first point is: In the "General Tantra," it says: "With a truly peaceful mind,"
