Therefore, habituating oneself to egolessness is the very fruit of abandoning mere conceptualization. As it is said: Because of its profundity and vastness, it is non-conceptual and fully ripens. Since these two are taught in this, therefore it is the unsurpassed method. Thus it is said. Therefore, engaging the mind thoroughly in undistorted giving and so forth is the method, for if those are completely dedicated to omniscience itself, then they will become the very cause of perfect enlightenment. As it is also said: Giving and discipline, patience and likewise diligence, meditation and wisdom, dedicate entirely to enlightenment. Do not cling to the aggregates of enlightenment, do not take them as supreme. To the first practitioner, thus it should be taught. Thus it is said. The meaning of those is that if one is separated from the vast method, then no matter how much one is habituated to egolessness, one will not attain Buddhahood, which is the nourishment for all beings, so one must strive for the method. That state of benefiting all sentient beings is also the result of habituating oneself to the vast method, for the result of habituating oneself to egolessness is merely the abandonment of the exhaustion of defilements. This does not mean that although meditating on emptiness apart from the vast method can exhaust all defilements, it does not produce the accomplishment of all sentient beings. Nor does it mean that although merely habituating oneself to the vast method apart from meditating on emptiness can attain the form body that accomplishes the purpose of all sentient beings, it does not attain the dharma body that exhausts all defilements, for it is impossible to attain one of the two, the dharma body and the form body, and not the other, for those two are a definite relationship that depends on a single collection of causes, so they are never separate. Moreover, the wisdom that realizes emptiness, which is superior to the precious mind of enlightenment, is what eradicates all the defilements of self-grasping, so it is the uncommon cause of the dharma body with two purities, but it is also the co-occurring condition of the form body. Similarly, the vast methods are also the uncommon cause of the form body, but they are also the co-occurring condition of the dharma body, for if one does not strive for the vast methods, then

Even if one becomes accustomed to the profound Suchness, it is only possible to transcend samsara. This is because one cannot reach the Dharmakaya in which all defilements are exhausted. If one does not strive for the wisdom that realizes emptiness, then no matter how much one strives for vast means, one cannot reach the Rupakaya. However, the exhaustion of all defilements at the time of attaining Buddhahood is the result of meditating on emptiness. Becoming the nourishment for all beings must be the result of vast means. For example, the eye consciousness that apprehends blue requires the completion of three conditions. Although it is the result of all three, it only apprehends form, and other objects such as sound do not enter, which is the function of the sense faculty. The arising of the nature of experience is the function of the immediate condition. The arising of the appearance of blue is like the function of the objective condition. The verse from the Ornament for Clear Realization, "Because of profundity," etc., is the source for how the means of accomplishing the result becomes unsurpassed when both aspects of means and wisdom are complete. The sutra collection verse beginning with "Giving," etc., is the source for how means such as giving, which accomplish Buddhahood, become means when they are dedicated to enlightenment and grasped by wisdom without objectification. Below that, the uncommon means of the mantra vehicle are spoken of as follows: "That is not as it is in reality, because there is no meditation that accords with the manifestation of complete enlightenment arising from the habituation of different causes." The meaning of this is that the means such as giving that were explained, those that were called unsurpassed or supreme means, are not so, because there is no meditation on the path that accords with the manifestation of the Buddha's Rupakaya and its appearance, because one is merely accustomed to a path that is completely different from the result and its appearance. That is to say, if there is no meditation on the path that is in accordance with the appearance of the Rupakaya, then one cannot accomplish Buddhahood, therefore, to establish that it is not the supreme means, as the sutra says: "The result that is profound and vast by its own nature is the activity accomplished from its own nature." In general, the result to be obtained is that which has the nature of the profound Dharmakaya,
