There are two. From the Five Stages: Conventional and ultimate, If one knows the individual aspects, Where they are truly mingled, That is said to be union. Thus it is said. The way of union is: From the Five Stages: By knowing that very nature, in sequence, Bliss, blessing, and clear light are known. Whatever gathers only those, This is the stage of union. Thus it is said, so the body, self-blessed and pure, appears as a rainbow body, and the mind, the ultimate reality, enters into one taste. When the two minds are one, it is not an alternation where one is absent, but the wisdom body is attained when they are gathered at the same time. In the state of no more learning, the mind always abides in that very nature, and the body is the body with the ultimate marks and signs, but in the state of union with learning, it is the opposite of that. Both of these are bodies accomplished from the three appearances of mind and the five winds and lights, and it is not that the body of ripening has been purified and gone there. However, the way in which the body of ripening is still temporarily held, and the detailed distinctions between this and the illusory body, etc., are set aside for now because it is feared that they are too many and it is desired to explain them elsewhere. Such a mind and body of union with learning are the supreme cause of the mind and body of the Buddhas, so it is the best of the completion stages. Therefore, if others also do not accomplish a supreme completion stage that is the same in meaning as this or similar in kind to this when approaching the fruit, they will not be able to proceed to the ultimate fruit. Thus, that state of union with learning, as it is said, "If one knows the individual aspects," if there is no prior completion stage of each of the two truths, then a non-dual union will not arise, so illusion and clear light must be cultivated separately. Moreover, the illusory body is accomplished at the end of the three emptinesses, while union is accomplished at the end of the four emptinesses, from the wind and mind alone that arise in a reversed manner. From the Five Stages: That which comes with its own nature, Endowed with the six consciousnesses, Also through the stages of self-blessing, It also changes several times for the sake of sentient beings. Just as from a clear river, A fish quickly rises, Likewise, from all emptiness, Illusion

It is said that the illusory net arises. As stated, it is also repeatedly mentioned in the Compendium of Trainings and the Lamp Illuminating. Therefore, before that, it is necessary for the subtle dualistic appearance to enter into the true clear light after the four emptinesses. To enter into it, it is necessary to purify the appearances of the three minds, which is repeatedly mentioned, so it is necessary to realize it directly. To accomplish this, it is first necessary to obtain what is called "self-blessing illusory body, conventional truth." As it says in the Five Stages: The samadhi of self-blessing, and likewise the place of clear light, by the difference of cause and effect, it is shown as two truths. By the sequence of self-blessing, clear light is attained. Therefore, the Vajra Acharya, first shows the blessing to oneself. So it is said. The illusory body is: after the three emptinesses, the three minds arising in reverse order combined with wind, from mere wind-mind, appearing as oneself as the body of Vajrasattva. As it says in the Five Stages: That itself is perfectly combined with wind, the three consciousnesses again, arise in the body of the yogi, that is called the illusory body. So it is said. This is similar to the mental body in a dream, as stated in the Compendium of Trainings, therefore in the mind of the yogi, it appears that such a body is obtained, it is the body of wisdom, not that such a body is obtained in reality. It is similar to the body of the learning union that abides in reality and the body accomplished from wind-mind, but the difference is great, it is necessary to understand the similarities that are similar to the dream body, I would like to talk about it elsewhere. Therefore, it says in the Five Stages: By the image in the mirror, the illusory body is to be known, the colors are like a rainbow, pervasive like the moon in water. As it is said, as before, that body that appears as oneself as the body of Vajrasattva from mere wind-mind, it is to be known to be similar to those examples, it is not a coarse body of flesh and bones, but like the moon in water and so on, for a clear and unobstructed body, oneself is merely appearing very clearly, do not merely think so. Because it is also said that the generation stage is also practiced in this way, therefore for those who have not yet stabilized the generation stage, there is also a clearer appearance than what is seen with the eyes, and that is also clear and unobstructed, appearing like a rainbow.
