Because these are the first to appear, the mandala king, the perfect enjoyment body, and the hosts of deities emanating from him while abiding in their own places, are established as the activity king, the emanation body, because they benefit sentient beings in the ten directions. In order to know that the yogis of the first stage do not go beyond the realm of the six types of beings, the six branches of vows are made. All the yogas of the actual practice of the generation stage are summarized into four yogas, namely, the first two yogas are mainly the practice of the small form of the father and mother deities, and on top of that, adding the complete practice of the wheel of deities is the third yoga, the medium yoga, and finally, practicing becoming one with the wisdom being and blessing the eyes, etc., so it is established as the great yoga. It is for the purpose of knowing that the first stage has the three abilities of small, medium, and large to eliminate its own unfavorable conditions. Yeshe Shyab also established the three types of small, medium, and large, which are also based on adding the latter to the former, in order to eliminate the coarse, medium, and small unfavorable conditions, which is similar to the saying of Men Shyab. In terms of using the seven-branch complete path as the path, the classification of the generation stage by Yeshe Shyab is also very important, as has been said before. These are the wonderful vows of the first stage, so if you study them based on these, you will know the boundaries of whether the first stage is complete or not. Third, then, in the first stage, only meditating on the wheel of deities on the side of appearance, and mainly meditating on emptiness in the second stage, is that enough? If not, what needs to be said now is that it is very necessary to practice emptiness in the first stage, because the first stage is the ripening cause of the means to generate the complete realization of the completion stage, and if you do not practice emptiness, you will not be able to achieve such ripening. In the mantra vehicle, it is said in many tantras that before generating the wheel of deities on the side of appearance, one should recite mantras such as svabhava (藏文:སྭ་བྷཱ་བ་,梵文天城体:स्वभाव,梵文罗马拟音:svabhāva,汉语字面意思:自性), and meditate on the meaning of the mantra, that is, the ultimate truth of no self-nature, so it is said that it must be done from the beginning. And, in the first stage, all three bodies must be used as the path.

Because it is necessary to meditate on emptiness for the path of Dharmakaya, and as the basis for practice, birth, death, and the three bardos must all be practiced, so it is necessary to meditate on emptiness in order to practice death. All yogas such as the support and the supported must be done in a state like illusion, because it is said more than once in countless tantras and treatises. As it is said in the Five Stages: The union of mantras and mudras, and the various thoughts such as mandalas, all the activities of fire offerings and tormas, should always be done like illusions. Pacifying and increasing, likewise, subjugation and activities, and whatever, such as attracting, should be like Indra's bow (藏文,梵文天城体,indra dhanu,梵文罗马拟音,因陀罗之弓,汉语字面意思:the bow of Indra, i.e., a rainbow). Engaging in pleasures such as coquetry, and relying on offerings such as nagas and music, and being skilled in various magical arts, should be done like the moon in water. Form, sound, and likewise smell, taste and touch, being skilled in the eyes and so on, should be carefully observed as if they were illusions. What need is there to say much here? The yogi in the Vajrayana, whatever object is to be focused on, is said to be purely illusion. Thus it is said. Especially in this path, if one does not constantly remember after gaining the view, it will become a violation of vows, as Jñānaśrī said in eliminating the two extremes, and it is also said in the fourteenth root downfall: For phenomena that are devoid of names and so on, to have conceptual thoughts about them is the eleventh downfall. Therefore, it is not just that it is okay to do it, but if you don't do it, it will create faults. In the first stage, the way to inseparably combine the appearance of the mandala's wheel-like form and the wisdom that realizes the meaning of selflessness, and the way to prevent the root of suffering in samsara, self-grasping, is clear in the Yeshe Zhap tradition, as it is said in the Kunzang Sadhana: Ultimately, by that which is other than the stream of conceptual thoughts, there is no other suffering of samsara, the mind that is contrary to that, this will be directly realized. The nature of which is deep and vast, in that place all conceptual appearances do not change. Thus it is said. What doubts does this cut off? In its commentary, it says: Previously, the way to practice deity yoga was explained in detail, if the effort to do all this is for the sake of liberation from samsara, then your

If it is thought that practicing the path of the first stage will not liberate from samsara because there is no practice of selflessness, then in response to this objection, those treatises state that the first stage contradicts the root of samsara. Menzhaba also said: That is because it is a brief explanation of the detailed exposition, so the mandala wheel mentioned above, its inconceivable nature, is said to be the antidote to the suffering of existence. This is the same as other commentaries of the Yeshe Zhap school. The meaning of "ordinary discrimination" here is that some Tibetans and Indians explain the appearance that does not appear as a deity, but only as a spontaneous discrimination, which is definitely not the view of Yeshe Zhap, because in this commentary it says, ordinary, the discrimination of ordinary people is the discrimination of self and what belongs to self. Moreover, in the commentary on the Four Hundred and Fifty Verses, Shantipa also said: The ordinary conceptualization mentioned here refers to the mental expression that has the image of self and what belongs to self, as well as the object and the subject. If it is said to be close to the suffering of the nature of existence, then it is the main cause of the suffering of the nature of existence. Thus, auspicious Fruit Vajra, Menzhaba, and Samantabhadra and others also clearly explained the grasping of self, and it can also be understood through the context. Therefore, grasping of self is an ordinary discrimination, and it is the root of the suffering of existence, so it is called the suffering of existence. The mind that is contrary to it is the mind that has the image of the mandala wheel, and all the commentaries say so, and the way of contradiction is the contradiction of image, and it is necessary for the two ways of grasping to be directly contradictory. The mind that has the image of the wheel will also be directly realized by the practitioner himself. The reason for the contradiction is that in the Sadhana Samantabhadra, it is shown through "profound" etc., that is, when the mind that has the image of the wheel arises, the meaning of the ordinary discrimination not appearing. If it is thought that when it arises, because the grasping of self is not seen, it cannot block the grasping of self, just as practicing the sphere of infinite space can also reverse it, in response to this, Shantipa said: The image of the mandala
