It is merely following the habits of accomplished ones. As the Lord of Reasoning said: "Lust, fear, and sorrow, Deceived by thieves and nightmares, The object dwells as if present, Yet seeing it as untrue, know it for sure." Thus it is said, a lustful person repeatedly remembers the object of lust, and by this alone, one can clearly see that object as if it were in front of one's eyes. Therefore, to generate a clear appearance, it is not necessary to prove that it existed beforehand, nor will it not arise if one is not familiar with each part. To generate a clear appearance, it is also not necessary to be familiar with the true meaning, because whether one is familiar with the meaning of what is inverted or not, it is the nature of things that a clear appearance arises. As the Lord of Reasoning said: "Therefore, true or untrue, Whatever one becomes extremely familiar with, When familiarity is completely perfected, That clear, non-conceptual mind has results." Thus it is said, and in the tantras, it is also explained with the example of a crystal jewel that the mind, when connected with any object, will transform into the shape of that object, as quoted earlier. For the beginner, from the preliminary accumulation of merit to the stage of gathering, when practicing, one should carefully clarify each detail and practice, not just manifesting the image, but also generating a strong conviction of the mind. This is because both a clear image and the generation of pride are necessary. First, how to reasonably divide it into sections, from the beginning to the end of that section, without letting the mind fall into dullness or agitation, one should strive to keep the mind continuously engaged with the object of meditation, and learn with great effort, gradually lengthening the duration, until finally, from the beginning to the end of each session, one cannot be interrupted by dullness or agitation, and one should learn fluently. At that time, because one has not practiced for a long time, and the power of the mind has not yet become strong, although one may not see clearly most of the time, because faith is most important, one should practice especially with faith. As it is said in the commentary on the Four Hundred and Fifty Verses: "These three yogas are especially dominated by faith, not by seeing, because the time is short or small. Therefore, it is said to be special faith." As it is said. Both appearance and pride should be examined and protected separately with discriminating wisdom.

One should rely on experiences that arise gradually, and not trust those that arise suddenly based on experiences. The generation stage can be established when whatever one visualizes clearly appears, and what one does not visualize does not appear, and when what appears does not exceed the extent of what one has visualized. However, if it is mixed with experience, it cannot withstand scrutiny if reduced to that level. Therefore, if one sets the goal of "I will meditate in this way" beforehand and then visualizes clearly, if one can appear without any deficiency or excess from that level, then the meditation can be established. Moreover, even if one sets the limit from the beginning, one cannot grasp the key point, so when the mind becomes very familiar, one should do so, and the same reasoning should be applied to pride. The reason why it is necessary to do so is that, for example, when meditating on impermanence and compassion, one also combines their respective objects and aspects and cultivates them. If it is an experience that arises gradually, then whenever one wants, one can visualize the objects and aspects and meditate. If it is mixed with experience, and a strong thought suddenly arises, it is as if one has no place to arise at will. In general, the necessity of the generation stage is not just that when one visualizes oneself as a deity, it is merely transferring pride and appearance to a special state. If it were only that, then all the lower tantras would also possess the key points of the generation stage, and one deity would be sufficient, so meditating on the wheel of the mandala would be meaningless. Therefore, by meditating on the basis of purification, the dependent and the mandala of the dependent, which purify the ordinary container and its contents, and the complete part explained by the wise who are proficient in the meaning of the tantras, many special interdependencies of the basis of purification and the means of purification are fulfilled, so that the roots of virtue for the arising of the excellent realization of the completion stage are fully matured. Therefore, the power to ripen the tantra lies in meditating on the wheel of the mandala in four sessions, so for the complete method of accomplishment, it is also necessary to learn repeatedly and make the clear appearance complete. The method of producing clear appearance should also be practiced equally for everything, according to the rules of the great masters' treatises, so that all clear appearances arise in one direction, which itself has great power. Learning the complete method of accomplishment in this way, even when one has not yet obtained the clear appearance of each, one possesses all the rituals for ripening the tantra, so it has great power and is easy to obtain.
