Although some say that it is named in terms of its result, in their treatises, it is mentioned many times that the Completion Stage is for accomplishing the supreme siddhi, and the Generation Stage is for accomplishing the common siddhi, but such an explanation of the terms Generation Stage and Completion Stage is not seen. Therefore, following Virupa and Dombipa, it is good to mainly name the path as they said, and the reason for explaining the terms Generation Stage and Completion Stage at the time of the path is established on the path itself, as Shantipa said: "Sequence, form, part, and direction, these are names. What is the sequence? It is the sequence of yoga." Just like that. Determining the basis to which the terms of the Two Stages apply, and the reason for explaining the terms, the latter is very difficult. If this is determined, the uncommon differences between the Generation Stage and the Completion Stage can be distinguished, the meaning is very profound, and especially for the reason of explaining the terms, it is not clear and not extensive as said by the great ones. The Two Stages also have other names, called contrived yoga and real yoga, as it is said in Vajra Dakini, and also in Spring Drops: "Having abandoned the contrived mandala, purified from the contrived fire offering, purified from the contrived meditation activities, purified from the contrived recitation itself, all these contrivances, abandon in the manner of natural yoga. In order to realize the nature, thoroughly abandon the external contrivances." Like this, it is said with the example of a boat. Therefore, the Generation Stage and the Contemplation Stage and the Contrived Yoga are the names of the First Stage. The Completion Stage and the Non-Contemplation Stage and the Real Yoga are the names of the Second Stage. The three, Generation, etc., are generated, contemplated, and contrived by the mind, so by analogy, Completion is not repeated contemplation but is complete or accomplished. Then, what is the meaning of whether it is accomplished or not accomplished by the power of mental contrivance? If someone thinks like this. In this regard, both of the Two Stages similarly accomplish the body of the deity by relying on some means in their respective situations, but the way is different. Like this, the Generation Stage practitioner, from the vowels and consonants and the sun and moon arising from them, and the seed syllables and hand gestures, etc., makes himself complete as the body of the deity.

It is merely generating and contemplating through thought. As for the Completion Stage, it is because of the power of the meaning represented by vowels and consonants, the moon and sun, etc., white and red bodhicitta, and the ability to manipulate the winds, that the wisdom of the three experiences of appearance, increase, and attainment is manifested, and from the mere state of wind and mind, a deity body like an illusion arises, so it is perfected as a deity body without thought or fabrication. Therefore, the method of perfecting the body in the Generation Stage is also fabricated through thought, and the deity body that arises from that method is also artificial. The method of perfecting the deity body in the Completion Stage, such as the yoga of channels, winds, and bindus, is also not fabricated through thought, and through that method, emptiness is manifested, and the appearance as a deity body after that is also not contemplated. Considering that, the *Compendium of Practices* says: From the beginning of the Generation Stage until the ultimate stage of the complete quiescence of the body, it is only a matter of particularly admiring the characteristics of the three vajras, etc., so even in the complete quiescence of the body, there is no form of a deity. It means that in the three quiescences before obtaining the illusory body and in the stage of the Generation Stage, there is nothing other than the deity body that is merely admired through thought. Therefore, the deity body of the three quiescences is merely included in the category of the Completion Stage, and is not the actual body of wisdom. If that is the case, then the deity body should be generated only through the methods of the Completion Stage, such as the meaning represented by letters, etc., and the yoga of winds and bindus, etc., so what is the use of artificially generating the deity body through methods such as letters, hand gestures, and the moon and sun? It is not like that, because without becoming accustomed to artificial methods, one cannot perfect the non-fabricated method, and therefore, what arises from the method, without becoming accustomed to artificial methods, one cannot manifest what arises from the non-fabricated method. Considering that, as quoted earlier, the example of the boat was given, for example, in a place on the other side of the water, some people want to enjoy the consumption of food and drink, but they are separated by the water and cannot enjoy it, just as they rely on a boat to reach the other shore. If one wants to enjoy the consumption of the Completion Stage, but is also separated by the river of ordinary appearance clinging and cannot enjoy it, just as one relies on the boat of the Generation Stage, from the ordinary appear
