Now begin the translation. Furthermore, it is said in the Garland Treatise and the Commentary on the Origin of Discipline that when placing the primordial thread (ye thig, Tibetan: ཡེ་ཐིག) on the ground, it should be placed with the intention of placing it in the sky. Therefore, it must be contemplated that the Tathagatas who come forth urged by the sound of the thread dissolve into the thread. This and the previous visualization are the main purpose of placing the primordial thread, so it must not be interrupted. Regarding the measurement for placing the primordial thread, the Garland Treatise states that two Brahma threads should be placed, from the Desire Garland to the Desired Garland. This refers to the case where the thread is long; if the thread is short, then it is from horn tip to horn tip. The two corner threads are: from the tip of the arrow shaft to the tip, and all the root threads are said to be placed to the size of the wheel. For the other threads, too, the thread should be stretched and placed in the same way as the work thread. This has been quoted many times before. At the moment the primordial thread is placed, in order to welcome and send off, it is said in the Vajra Dakini and numerous mandala rituals that after placing all the threads with five-colored threads, the welcoming and sending off should be performed. Because there is no distinction between the primordial thread blessing the work thread, and because after placing the primordial thread, no matter which thread is placed on, the entry of Vajra force must be performed, the primordial thread should be placed on all work threads. When placing the primordial thread, Lawapa said that the lama should hold the vajra bell, so this should be done. If the thread of the vajra fist is held first, then any method of holding it afterwards is fine, because it is said in the Vajra Dakini: The vajra fist of the left hand, place it on the navel and grasp it, after that, do whatever is convenient. So it is said. Meditate on the equality of all directions, and the direction of circumambulation, the place to stay, the direction to face, and the order of placing the threads should be done as previously explained in detail. Here, the Garland Treatise says that when holding the thread in space, use the vajra foot, and when placing the two Brahma threads on the ground, the left foot should be in half-lotus position and the right foot should be placed on the ground, and it is said that the disciple should do the opposite. The two followers also say the same. For the former, Vibhuti said, with the vajra gait, and Nagarjuna also said the same, so when walking, the feet should be blessed and walked as previously said, and when placing them on the ground, the feet should be placed as said when sitting.

The method is: other lines are the same, and the activity line should also be done in the same way. Then, what is the meaning of the names "wisdom line body" and "activity line cord"? The essence is the nature of the five families and five wisdoms, appearing as five-colored threads, so it is called the wisdom line cord, because it is the line cord generated as the essence of all activity deities, so it is called the activity line, just like the activity vase. In this way, after all the lines are drawn, after offering the torma, with Oṃ (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Oṃ) Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Āḥ) Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ) Vajra Muḥ (Tibetan: བཛྲ་མུཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra muḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Vajra Muḥ), invite the wisdom line cord to enter the heart of the preliminary deity previously invited, and then place the five-colored line cords according to their respective positions. The second part has four aspects: preparing the pigments and pulling out the pegs, how the master and disciples place them, indicating the color positions of the mandala, and setting the signs on the mandala and inviting the wisdom colors. The first part is: at this time, the rosary and its followers say to offer the torma, but for this reason, the offering is not obvious, but Maitreya Moon says that before applying the colors, one should wear red clothes and cast the torma, which is the same as the preparation before applying the colors. The white, yellow, red, green, and black pigments placed in the new container should be visualized as arising from Baṃ Laṃ Raṃ Haṃ Aṃ in order, as the rosary and its followers said. The materials for the white and other pigments are: made of moon crystal, topaz, red lotus jewel, emerald, and sapphire respectively. Or use pearls, gold, coral, and amber, or mix these four together, which is determined according to the degree of wealth. Or made of apricots, or made of rice, or made of flowers, depending on the situation, brick powder, ash, and bone ash can also be used, and prepared well. The text says "well-prepared good things", which is determined according to the degree of poverty. These are the meanings stated in the general generation stage and the common tantras. Then, arising from Bruṃ Āṃ Hrīḥ Khaṃ Hūṃ, merely appearing and so on, although it is not explicitly stated in the rosary, the colors are placed in the center and four directions according to the order of the deities corresponding to the occasion. Write the five letters separately and purify them first.
