The extensive methods are also the unique cause of the Form Body, and at the same time, they are the common contributing factor to the Dharma Body. If one does not strive in the extensive methods, no matter how familiar one becomes with the suchness of phenomena, one can only transcend samsara. This is because one cannot reach the Dharma Body where all defilements have been exhausted. If one does not strive in the wisdom that realizes emptiness, no matter how much one strives in the extensive methods, one cannot reach the Form Body. Even so, the exhaustion of all defilements at the time of Buddhahood is the result of meditating on emptiness; to become the nourishment of all beings must be regarded as the result of extensive methods. For example, when the eye consciousness that apprehends blue arises, it needs to have three conditions complete. Although all three are the result, the fact that it apprehends form but does not engage with other objects such as sound is the function of the sense faculty. The arising of the nature of experience is the function of the immediately preceding condition, and the arising of the appearance of blue is like the function of the objective condition. The quote from the Ornament of the Sutras, "Because of profundity," etc., states that if both aspects of method and wisdom are complete, it becomes the source of the unsurpassed means for accomplishing the result. The summary quote beginning with "Giving," etc., states that the methods for accomplishing Buddhahood, such as giving, become methods if they are taken by dedication to enlightenment and wisdom without an object of focus. After that, the uncommon methods of the Mantra Vehicle are taught, as it is said: "That is not as it is, because there is no cultivation that accords with the manifestation of complete enlightenment from familiarizing oneself with dissimilar causes." The meaning of that is that the giving and so forth that are taught as methods, those that are said to be unsurpassed or supreme methods, are not so, because there is no cultivation of the path that accords with the manifestation of the Form Body of the Buddha and its appearance, because one is merely familiarizing oneself with a path that is completely different from the result and its appearance. It means that if there is no cultivation of the path that accords with the Form Body and its appearance, then one cannot accomplish Buddhahood with the unsurpassed methods, which is proven in the same scripture: "The nature of self is the nature of profundity and vastness itself."

The fruit of having is the activity accomplished from one's own nature. That is to say, the fruit to be attained in general is the essence of the profound Dharmakaya, and the essence of the vast adorned with marks and examples. That is, the mind enters into the suchness of all dharmas and becomes equal in taste, and never arises from it, and at that time the body is adorned with radiant marks and examples, and always abides without relying on change, both of which are inseparable in essence, that is, the meaning of saying that it is the nature of one's own nature. In that case, the means and wisdom to accomplish it must also be in accordance with it. For example, when a yogi accomplishes the Dharmakaya of the Victorious One's mind, he places his mind on the meaning of the suchness of things from now on, just like practicing the path that is in accordance with the Victorious One's mind. When accomplishing the Rupakaya, one must also practice the path that is in accordance with the form of one's own body appearing as having marks and examples. These two are the same in doing and the same in abiding, and are all the same. Considering this, rather than practicing self, one should meditate on the vast self, which is the same as no-self, as being non-different. It is said that the vastness here refers to the practice of deity yoga, and the manner of vastness will be explained below. Accomplishing in such a way is called accomplishing from one's own nature. In the stage of the fruit, the basis of the body adorned with marks and examples, and the mind that relies on it without any object, are inseparable in essence and abide at the same time. In the stage of the path, the yogi's mind, the means of one's own body appearing as the form of the Tathagata, and at the same time one's own mind, the wisdom that focuses on the suchness of dharma, the selflessness, both of which are inseparable in essence as one consciousness, must be practiced as inseparable means and wisdom that are gathered at the same time. Because by familiarizing oneself with the yoga of combining these two at the same time, ultimately the non-dual wisdom itself, in order to accomplish the state of appearing as the Rupakaya to those to be tamed. Thus, the supreme means of appearing as a deity is also the wisdom of realizing the nature of one's own mind without error.
