That which erases one-eighth on the ground, one-fourth of that door is a small division. Outside the root are one and two, one two one and the end of one. Six lines from the corner to the face, from the diameter sequentially to itself. The first line is three small divisions, the second line touches the top of two small divisions. The third step is eight small divisions, from the line four straight lines are drawn. The third is five small divisions, the fourth is four small divisions. The first of those four small divisions, perfectly touches the top of the face line. Three lines are between each small division, from the root of the fourth to the line on the face, possessing ten small divisions. The line that appears from the top of the root, the fourth small division is on the face, two small divisions directly opposite, those are eight small divisions, three of which are curved. Thus it is said. This where the side door is not equal, the small divisions of the line cord sixty-six and forty-four are common, but sixty-six has both equal and unequal to the side door. Therefore, when it is equal to the side door, there is no Dar Yang and dark cloth. Of the step, from the line four straight lines are drawn, it becomes two straight lines. This teacher made both long and short lines, the long line was made by Lawapa and Sarahala and many others. Although there are tantras that say one-tenth and one-ninth of the door wheel, the Indian teachers do not use those terms, this teacher also abandoned those, and said one-eighth, this is the intention of Gur and Vajra Dakini, and it is also said that way in the Indian mandala rituals. When drawing lines, Vajra Dakini says: If the line cord breaks, the teacher will die. Decreasing or increasing will cause illness. If the direction is mistaken, the student will faint. Knowing these, if these things happen, one must perform a remedial ritual. Although this does not say remedy, one should do as if avoiding having a nightmare. The General Tantra says: If bad omens appear, things will not succeed. Taking long and short will cause illness. Thus it is said, if the line cord is made longer or shorter than the stated measurement, illness will occur, Shantipa said it is the teacher who will get sick. Being confused about the direction is the teacher and disciple's residence deviating, the student being confused or fainting is, Darikapa says: Direction confused, the student will become afflicted.

Like being sunburned, the students are suffering. Some say that the varying lengths are lines but not line-cords, which is not reasonable. If that were the case, the lines needed on the outside could not be drawn, and long lines could not be drawn. If the mark of the line-cord is bad, when is the line drawn? Shantipa considers it to be at the time of drawing the two Brahma lines, because in the Garland Treatise it is also said after those two lines are drawn, so their intention is the same. Nyimo Jungne (Tibetan place name) explains three usages regarding the two Brahma lines, the eight great lines, and all the lines. Therefore, as it is said in the General Tantra, "Therefore, the wise should carefully draw all the lines." When drawing two lines and making two line-cords, one should be very careful. Secondly, the horse-seat and so on are different because two measurements of the line-cord are mentioned. Generally, the length of the line-cord is considered to be twice the mandala, and the thickness is one-twentieth of the door width, as it is said in the seventeenth chapter of the Compendium of Sources: "The length is twice the wheel, and is one-twentieth of the door width." This is also said many times in the mandala ritual and so on. The necessity of saying the length in this way is considered in the Garland Treatise to be for the purpose of drawing only the Brahma lines, so other lines do not need this measurement, but it is done for the purpose of drawing the two Brahma lines. Among them, the Brahma lines have two lengths, for example, when the height of the horse-seat, the wheel, and the horn tip are divided into two large parts, the measurement of the line-cord from the root line to the root line is twice that of the mandala. When three door widths are made at the height of the horse-seat, and one door width is made at the wheel and the horn tip, the measurement of the line-cord cannot be determined, so it is twice that of the root mandala including the wheel. The Garland Treatise says, "The root mandala itself, completely divided by four root lines, the line-cord should be twice as long, and sixty-four small Brahma line parts must be drawn." And, "The mandala here also refers to the mandala wheel contained at the edge of the various vajra centers, from the root line outward to the extent of containing eight parts, which is forty-eight small parts." And so on until the end.
