Then, turning the palms upwards, one should recite "Oṃ Vajra Āḥ Hūṃ" (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡; 藏文:བཛྲ,梵文天城体:वज्र,梵文罗马拟音:vajra,汉语字面意思:金刚; 藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊; 藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) and strike the ground, and thus one should have faith. This is following the example of Mituk Zlawe (Invincible Moon). Gyalwa Zangpo (Victorious Good One) also said, "Or, if one has the power of wisdom, one should drive in the stake of samādhi." It is said that by driving in and striking the stake, one should think that all obstacles have become one taste in the suchness of great bliss, and that the remaining obstacles have fled far away, and that all beings in the great surrounding area above, below, and in all directions are free from all obstacles, and one should maintain this firm faith. Therefore, one should make each of the objects of focus at the time of driving in the stake clear and firm. Sixth, if one is constructing a colored powder mandala in an old mandala house or mansion, or in another place, or if one is giving empowerment in another mandala such as a painted mandala or a body mandala, one might wonder whether these ground rituals are necessary or not. In this regard, the General Tantra says: "The dwelling of a sage and a cow pen, a cave and the top of a mountain, any ground that has an end, an empty house and a stone slab, the vicinity of a stupa and an island in a flowing river, and the shores of lakes, one does not need to diligently purify and examine the ground. Even if the end is broken, it is not necessary there. One does not need to generate doubts about faults such as high and low." Therefore, in these places, it is not necessary to examine the ground, and even if there is a high place contrary to what is said about the east and north being low, one does not need to doubt. Therefore, one does not need to consider the aspects of examining the ground and the differences between high and low. Saying that purification is not necessary means that the aspects of digging up the ground and purifying it are not necessary, but it does not mean that purification is completely unnecessary. Because, in the same text, it says: "On the naturally existing ground, after cleaning it well, stroking it with the hand and reciting the secret mantra, that is its purification." And Vajra Dakini also said something similar. Also, in the eighteenth chapter of the Compendium of Teachings, it says: "On the ground where work has been done before, one should not do digging and so forth. Touching the Hūṃ syllable with the hand, one should recite the mantra to purify the ground." Thus it is said, and in its commentary it is explained that one should perform all the ground purification with the three: substance, mantra, and samādhi.

As mentioned before, it has also been explained in the 'Garland Treatise,' so these and the practices of unsurpassed yoga should be performed. If making a colored powder mandala in those places, then matters such as dispelling inauspiciousness and divining the land must also be fully performed. Although it is not clearly stated how to proceed when relying on painted thangkas, there has not appeared a mandala ritual for empowerment based on painted thangkas, written by Rahula Guhya, Shri Mitra, Vagishvarakirti, and Amoghavajra. Even analyzing it from the meaning, it seems unnecessary, so land examination, expulsion, and practice are not necessary. Regarding the ritual for divining the land, the 'Garland Treatise' says: "Divining the land with the form of the mandala's lord, etc., as well as the consecration of Buddha images, etc., the empowerment of disciples, and the invitation of deities to descend, and the final stage of the peaceful pacifying fire puja, all of these should be done in the mind." Thus, when giving empowerment in the mind mandala, one should contemplate the deity yoga and perform protections such as expelling obstacles, pegging down, and creating boundaries. Regarding whether land rituals are necessary for empowerment in the body mandala, although it is not clearly stated in the Indian treatises, it seems feasible to either follow the way the previous lamas considered those parts of the land ritual unnecessary, or to combine the reasoning stated for the mind mandala. Here it is said: The ultimate of the glorious Vajrayana, the meaning of the ocean of Anuttarayoga Tantras, gathering all the general principles of the path, and the way of determining the order of the path, with the previous recitation purifying the continuum, the land where the mandala is drawn, the rituals for completely purifying, are explained very clearly like the treatises of the wise. The stages of the path of the Great Vajradhara, from analyzing the essential points of all secrets, knowing the essential points of the path and having recited previously, therefore the order of how to perform the land ritual, is the fifth chapter. Secondly, there are three preparatory rituals: the general presentation of preparation, the individual preparatory rituals, and the explanation of the preparation of other mandalas. The first is: Regarding the law of preparation, in the fourth section of the seventh chapter of the 'Compendium of Unions Root Tantra,' there is the preparation of the earth goddess, and in the subsequent tantra, first is the deity preparation, then the vase preparation, then the disciple preparation, that is, pre
