It is said that mantra is for taming those who have attachment, and Paramita is for taming those who are free from attachment. Therefore, practicing the path without abandoning attachment to desirable qualities, and practicing the path of taming attachment, are the reasons for distinguishing the two vehicles. This needs to be explained. If we distinguish the disciples of these two vehicles by whether they practice the path without abandoning attachment to desirable qualities or practice the path of abandoning attachment, then both have both, so this difference cannot distinguish the vehicles. For example, there are many lay bodhisattvas who have entered the path of the Paramita vehicle who have not abandoned non-celibacy, and for skillful means such as the Brahmin boy Stars, it is also allowed to practice non-celibacy when it is related to the great benefit of others. Moreover, there are also many disciples of the mantra vehicle who have abandoned craving for desirable qualities. Otherwise, it would be impossible to be liberated from desire until enlightenment, or even after enlightenment, there would be the fault of not abandoning it. If it is thought that whatever the disciples of these two are, they are the unique or main disciples of each, and it is permissible to enter that path initially. That is, it is only permissible to practice the path of that vehicle without deliberately abandoning attachment to desirable qualities, but it is not that attachment can be a companion on the path, so it becomes a vessel for the cause of liberation. If that is the case, then, as will be explained below, such as "play, look, and hold hands," it must be admitted that there are disciples of the four tantras who take the joy based on the four types of attachment to desirable qualities as the path. However, if this kind of thing is applied as a difference between the individuals who initially enter these two vehicles, that is acceptable, but it is not a method of distinguishing the vehicles. Similarly, the two vehicles cannot be distinguished by whether the path is adorned with bliss or not, or by the difference of striking the vital points of body and mind. If it is said that practicing that path will generate special pleasure in the body and joy in the mind, and that by this power the mind will remain stable on the object, then it is adorned with bliss. Then, for all those who initially achieve calm abiding, first the wind of the body becomes workable, and when it generates physical pliancy, great bliss arises in the body, and then by this power, the mind will

Because of the arising of special joy, the mind dwells in peace on its object, as stated in the "Earth Chapter." Therefore, since the quiescence of both inner and outer exists, how can it be used to distinguish between the paths of mantra and pāramitā? This has already been explained in detail in the common vehicle's path sequence, so I will not elaborate further. If it is thought that the meaning of being adorned with bliss is to realize the meaning of suchness based on the melting, relying on the special instructions for accomplishing the union of the white and red bodhicitta, then in that case, it is not reasonable to distinguish between the Vajrayana in general and the Pāramitāyāna, because it is a unique characteristic of the unsurpassable mantra. Through this reasoning, it should also be understood that striking the body and mind as a key point is also not appropriate as a distinguishing feature between the two vehicles. The second part has two points: the actual reason for distinguishing the two vehicles, and the demonstration that although there are differences in the path, there is no superiority or inferiority in the result. The first part has three points: explaining the actual meaning, citing its source, and refuting objections to it. The first point is: Here, on the resultant vehicle to be traversed, there is no difference of superiority or inferiority between mantra and pāramitā, because the goal to be achieved by both paths is the same: a Buddha who has exhausted all faults and perfected all qualities. Therefore, this traversing is a characteristic of the causal vehicle, and even within that, there is no difference in terms of realizing the view, the intention of bodhicitta, and learning the six perfections, so it is not possible to distinguish through these aspects. So, from where should one distinguish? The main meaning that both Mahāyānists want to manifest is the benefit of others, not the enlightenment to be attained for oneself, because the Buddha is also seen as a means to accomplish the benefit of others and is pursued as a part of it. As stated in the Ornament for Clear Realization: "The generation of the mind is for the sake of others, desiring perfect and complete enlightenment." Because the generation of the mind is the same. The Buddhas who actually appear to those to be trained and accomplish their benefit are not the Dharmakāya, but the two forms of the Rūpakāya. Among them, the Dharmakāya is accomplished by the wisdom of profound realization, and the Rūpakāya is accomplished by vast means.
