Whatever the moon has said, one should cherish diligence towards that. This was written by the greatly learned monk, Lobsang Drakpa's Pal. In response to the letter of the great Kachuwa Gelek Pal, who is the root of the teachings and a great practitioner of discipline, along with an offering of one sang of gold, one dam of silver, a pair of white porcelain bowls, and a container of incense, as a token of a gift in return to the virtuous friends Chöden and Tsön Rinpa, I offer just as a symbol of a gift, twenty-five small pieces of coarse reddish-brown cloth, each slightly less than nine spans long and slightly less than three spans wide. One white porcelain bowl with a black Sagri cover. One mandala plate with a conch shell ornament. I affix this seal to these items and offer them. Offered on the twelfth day of the first month, may it be auspicious! May the infallible refuge, the Three Jewels, the Dharma protectors with unobstructed power, and you, adorned with many qualities such as faith, have all your virtuous wishes fulfilled as desired! Presented to the great person Gön Tawa, who carries out the orders of the Sakya ruler in accordance with the Dharma. I have heard that you have very firm faith in the Dharma and its upholders. If I send a letter from here, you will pay attention to it, so I write this letter as follows: Obtaining the precious human body with leisure and endowments is more difficult than a turtle's neck entering the hole of a yoke floating in the great ocean. Being taken care of by a holy spiritual friend and encountering the Buddha's teachings is rarer than the udumbara flower. The wealth of worldly prosperity is like enjoying wealth in a dream for a single moment. The body and life of beings quickly perish, like lightning in the sky. When going alone from this world to the next, nothing but the Dharma can help, please remember this again and again. Repent and purify the negative actions you have done in the past. Try your best to avoid committing them in the future. Dedicate the roots of virtue you have accumulated in the past again and again with great aspirations. And strive to perform new virtuous deeds in many ways. This is what Je Rinpoche, the omniscient one, said to Gön Tawa.
