All mind training in the vast aspects, and all hearing and thinking, are considered to be imputed by concepts, and all concepts are seen as binding factors of samsara, thereby negating and abandoning all virtuous actions, merely opening the door to evil destinies. Although both of these fail to comprehend the meaning of emptiness, except for manifest pride, the former lacks the cause for generating faith in emptiness, while the latter grasps the cause for faith. Therefore, if the meaning of emptiness is grasped perversely, even faith will be burned, let alone generating hatred after perversely understanding it. As the Ratnavali says, "The faithful one, by wrong grasping, the other one, angered by hatred, if it is said that even the faithful one is burned, what need is there to expect maturation from hatred?" It also says, "If this Dharma is understood perversely, even the small among the unwise are like rainbows, those who view it as non-existent in this way will sink into that impurity. Furthermore, if this is grasped perversely, the fool has the pride of the wise, abandoning becomes a violent nature, and will go straight to Avici hell." Thus it is said. The way to generate non-perverted understanding is, as the Bodhicitta Explanation says, "Knowing that all dharmas are empty, and showing any of karma and result, this is wonderful beyond wonderful, rare beyond rare." And as the Praise Worthy of Praise says, "Does not abandon the nature of Dharma, and also conforms to the conventional." As it is said, no matter what object of true grasping is held, one can see that there is not even a speck of attachment, and with this as the cause, for all things such as bondage and liberation, karma and result, one can deeply obtain the certainty of "this arises from this" from the depths of one's heart. If one first makes the former one's own reasonable aspect, then the latter does not need to accommodate others or illusions in order to make one's own tenets uncomfortable, but rather sees that both are reasonable in one's own tenets, which is wonderful and rare. Because for most people, being able to understand seemingly contradictory things without contradiction is a skillful method. Therefore, by realizing emptiness, the distinction between samsara and nirvana must be reasonable, but if it is reasonable before realizing emptiness, and all distinctions disappear after realization, then there is no difference from the understanding of the substantialists.
