Upon the throne of five lions, the place for proclaiming profound and vast Dharma, the splendor of interwoven jewels, causing one to mistake it for the sun god. Like a mountain of gods, filled with blessings, attracting hearts with tamed behavior, ascending that throne, from amidst the clouds of conch-white teeth, expounding the excellent teachings with the clear and resounding sound of a dragon's roar. At that time, the sound of celestial musical instruments, was as if covering all directions. The Lord of Power, with his bow, illuminated the path of immortality without omission. That source of unparalleled merit in the world, what need is there to say of sentient beings offering to him? Even insentient things, as if they should be offered to, diligently making offerings, that is truly wondrous. Then, on the tenth day of the waxing moon in the first month of spring in the year of the Ox, in Nedong (Nedong Town), the King of the Shakyas of the degenerate age—the great treasure of Khyentse, the Lord of Dharma, the glorious and venerable Lama—with the venerable one as the preceptor, Khenchen Zhonnu Wangchuk as the Karma Acharya, Acharya Tsultrim Gyaltsen as the secret expositor, and the great abbot of the Sangha, Tashi Tsultrim, who holds the Vinaya of words and meaning, as the timekeeper, amidst twenty-three faithful Sangha members, having obtained the substance of a fully ordained Bhikshu, he became a fully ordained monk, becoming the essence of the precious teachings of the Victorious Ones, a treasury of all the trainings of the Vinaya. Thereafter, the glorious and venerable Lama, the Lord of Dharma, repeatedly urged, and those who had the authority to participate in discussions, also earnestly requested that the Lama and the officials be united as one, therefore, he temporarily agreed until Sonam Drakpa reached adulthood. Having thus agreed, even during the time of governing the kingdom, this great being, due to the habituation of taking many births, and accumulating vast merit, governing the kingdom solely with the sacred Dharma, and in all the upper and lower Dzongs (Dzong, equivalent to the current county), during the month of miracles (the first month of the Tibetan New Year), abstaining from killing, etc., by the power of these actions, in the entire Ngari region, wars, famines, and all the harms of plagues, were reduced to mere names. The gods rained at the right times, the crops were abundant, and sentient beings dwelt in happiness, just like the perfect age.

Through explanation and practice, The sons of Shakya, who greatly propagated the precious teachings, their qualities of learning and realization increased like the waxing moon. In short, it is just like a king guarding his kingdom with the power of loving-kindness. Possessing a mind as firm as a vajra, Having the wisdom to destroy the darkness of ignorance, Adorned by the radiance of the lotus blooming in his hand, A treasure of compassion, free from anger towards all. He guarded this earth with a loving heart, Free from harm, the assembly of his fame. Faultless, pleasing, like rays of nectar, It became an ornament in the ears of all sentient beings. Even so, that holy being, Preferred solitary places, And was not pleased with places Overwhelmed by commotion. At that time, this great being, who had long cultivated a firm devotion to practice, was wearied by the distractions of worldly affairs, and thought that kingship was meaningless, so he thought, "I should go to the sacred solitary place of Gampo (near present-day Ganden Monastery), blessed by the accomplished great being Dagpo Rinpoche." So he went to the principal monastery, concentrated his mind on practice, and prayed to his personal deity. Once, in a vision, first appeared a monk with the signs of a maroon robe, and then a woman adorned with fine ornaments, who said, "Now there is no need to go elsewhere, the desired purpose will soon be accomplished." A special feeling of joy and happiness arose in his heart, and he thought, "Now it is enough for me to stay in Telrang (place name)." So he decided whether to go or stay, and soon after, he was relieved of the burden of residing in Nedong (Nedong Dzong, in present-day Shannan Prefecture, Tibet). Manjushri, possessing the splendor of a young saffron, The supreme lord who liberates from existence through compassion. With an incomparably beautiful body, he accomplishes a feast for the eyes, With a melodious voice, he cuts through the doubts of the mind. In a peaceful place, non-conceptual samadhi, When seeing the signs that it will increase, That great being, in that very moment, The ocean of his heart surged with waves of joy and happiness. By whose power, the form of the Victorious One, Is clear in the mirror of the mind. Alas! This pure faith, This wonderful power is inconceivable. Even so,

In a stainless mind, what wonder is it that the pure essence appears? In a vessel of clear, untainted water, the moon's reflection appears naturally without clouds. This is the second chapter, the sequence of biographies, from the "Adornment of Speech: A Praise of the Noble Deeds of Jampal Zangpo, the Great Bodhisattva," which recounts how he ruled the kingdom with Dharma after taking ordination and full vows. On a white lotus seat by the shore of the water reservoir, adorned with ornaments that sway with youthful exuberance, I bow from my heart to the goddess of speech, who bestows eloquence, and who delights in the center of the lotus of my heart. Furthermore, this great being, through extensive study and contemplation, dispelled the nets of ignorance, wrong understanding, and doubt regarding the objects of knowledge, having listened to many teachings from the holy spiritual friends. Thus, his body, as beautiful as stacked molten gold, his hands as soft as sandalwood branches, his face as full as the fifteenth moon, he stands tall like a mountain king among the masses. His wisdom surpasses the bounds of the sky, his compassion equally encompasses the three realms, his fame fills the expanse of the earth, and his deeds lead all beings to virtue. The omniscient Sakya Paṇḍita, who is unopposed in debate, has appeared as the fortune and glory of sentient beings, the supreme holder of the victory banner of the undying teachings, the protector of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, known as Yongzin Zangpo. The surrounding land is pure, and all beings praise him, he has become the source of wondrous stories, and I take his foot dust upon my head with unfeigned reverence. Soaring in the sky with wings of vast learning, with claws to crush the arrogant opponents, seizing the splendor of the dark-sided hand-goers, I pay homage to the glorious lama, the powerful one with good wings. In the teachings of one Sugata, to call the second Śākyamuni a falsehood, if it were true, then Victorious Lord, when would you come to these teachings? Thus, represented by what was just said, he possesses countless qualities, has exhausted all impure faults, has reached the far shore of taming, and merely by seeing and hearing, is able to move the mind towards liberation, the Dharma King, the Lord of Dharma, the Master of Dharma, the nectar of speech of the great crest jewel Śākyamuni.
