Therefore, it is not contradictory to say that even if the clinging to external objects is relinquished from the ground (ས་, sa), the clinging to experiential awareness is not abandoned. This is because the intention of saying that appearances are realized to be without inherent existence is placed on the external object of apprehension. Even if external objects are realized to be without inherent existence, it is not contradictory to not abandon the clinging to the reality of the inner mind. The third view is that both inner experiential awareness and external appearances depend on causes and conditions, so they only appear conventionally like illusions, and it is realized that there is not even a trace of inherent existence. In this regard, even if there is no clinging to extremes, there is still a meaning that does not depend on dependent origination and conceptualization, that is, holding that phenomena are merely illusions. The reason for saying this is that whoever realizes phenomena as illusions, if they are Svatantrika, then they admit that things are established by their own characteristics in conventional truth, so although inherent existence is refuted in ultimate truth, they believe in self-characteristics that are not merely imputed by conceptualization in conventional truth. If this is the case, then according to their view, the meaning of saying like an illusion is that they believe that there are phenomena in conventional truth that are not merely imputed by conceptualization. However, Prasangikas do not admit that phenomena established by their own characteristics exist in both truths, so they believe that dependent origination is merely a nominal designation, and according to their view, this is not contradictory. Therefore, saying that even in conventional truth there is only appearance and no other inherent existence means that it is not merely established by self-characteristics, but that there is no inherent existence established in ultimate truth. Saying that there is no clinging to extremes, the clinging to extremes here also refers to the common clinging to extremes of Madhyamikas. According to the Prasangika view, there is still clinging to extremes that need to be refuted. If this is not the case, then from the point of view of realizing the meaning of being free from all extremes, is there a better view than this? Is there a better view than this? The understanding that phenomena appear as if they are established by their own characteristics is like a non-existent illusion, and the realization that all appearances are without inherent existence, and the realization that dependent origination is merely imputed, there is no high or low distinction in these views. Regarding the meaning of the Madhyamika treatises, we need something with few words and concise meaning, regarding the three bases, paths, and results, and the ways in which body, wisdom, and activity manifest. To this, we answer: In the treatises of the wise, there are two ways to establish the basis: refuting exaggerations and deprecations with scripture and reasoning is the basis, and purifying defilements.

It is the basis for engaging in conduct. According to the first case, there are two truths: the ultimate truth is free from elaboration, thus negating the extreme of existence; the conventional truth is like an illusion, thus abandoning the extreme of non-existence; and one is liberated from the evil spirit of wrong views such as fabrication, permanence, and annihilation. According to the latter case, one should know the essence of the mind with defilements, its nature being primordially pure, and that defilements are adventitious stains that can be separated, and strive to purify the realm of reality. The actual means of purifying defilements is the understanding of emptiness. However, purifying defilements and habitual tendencies completely through this path depends on the accumulation of limitless merit. Therefore, one should engage in vast practices such as generating the supreme mind of enlightenment, like the continuous flow of a river, without ever being satisfied. This is the path that pleases the Buddhas and their heirs. Merely clinging to one side is just making children happy. From the profound accumulation of wisdom arises the Dharmakaya, and from the vast accumulation of merit arise the Rupakaya, the Nirmanakaya and Sambhogakaya. This is the ultimate result, the supreme basis for the benefit of oneself and others in sequence. Just as taste and form are inseparable when dependent on a single collection of causes, similarly, the collection of causes for the two accumulations depends on one, and the two Kayas cannot be separated. Without the mind that knows the suchness and the extent of things, there is no Buddha's body, the Nirmanakaya is empty. The Dharmakaya also does not exist, therefore, in the state of Buddhahood, these two are united. From this arises effortless spontaneous accomplishment, and the continuity of abiding in samsara is never interrupted. With activities endowed with two special qualities, one effortlessly grants the two benefits to fortunate beings. The Lama, heavy with the burden of qualities, who is wholeheartedly devoted to the practice of enlightenment, has conveyed the meaning of the questions with brief answers, as he said, I have only briefly summarized it here. The path of the great sage, which is subtle and difficult to understand, the profound Madhyamaka path is immeasurable, therefore, it is not easy to satisfy you who have discriminating wisdom, pray to the Lama and the Yidam, ripen your mind-stream through many accumulations and purifications, and repeatedly analyze, and from higher to higher, wisdom will excel, and even the most subtle points will be understood. This is a symbolic gesture of a letter as a gift, recounting the realization of Sadaprarudita, and a small obstacle in the midst of our own clothing.
