The parents said, "What use are these to you?" The daughter said, "Even the smallest good deed can increase the ripening result. I wish to accumulate merit in the supreme field of holiness." The parents said, "What is that field of merit like?" The daughter said, "Even hearing the name is difficult to obtain, even after hundreds of thousands of eons. Today, by the power of merit, I have seen such a supreme bodhisattva. He possesses a deep and vast realm of bodhisattva conduct, filled with countless jewels of fortitude, the waves of diligence are not easily turned back, he is a great ocean of supreme qualities. He demonstrates the activity of a thousand eyes' illusion, regarding his own body as a pile of straw. He does not shrink from unattached giving, and with the power of truthful words, he has conquered the pride of the gods." Thus, the daughter related in detail to her parents all that had happened. Then, the daughter's parents said to the daughter, "Daughter of good family, where is he now?" The daughter replied, "He is now at our door." The parents said, "If that is so, open the door and we will go with you." Then, the daughter opened the door, and the daughter's five hundred maidservants were also adorned with splendid decorations. Five hundred chariots were also arranged properly and newly decorated. The Bodhisattva Sadāprarudita also rode with the merchant's daughter in a great chariot adorned with various jewels, covered with a golden net, drawn by an elephant king like a moving piece of a snow mountain, and together with the daughter's parents and hundreds of thousands of attendants, they went towards the east, on the road to the great city of Campā. O! The waves of diligence surge fiercely in a continuous stream. The Bodhisattva, bearing the burden of altruism, is like the Ganges River. He possesses the beauty of a tranquil body and walks with a gentle pace. The stream of beautiful women, uttering melodious sounds, surrounds him. Together with five hundred people, he heads towards the east and enters the shore of the Fragrant Sea. Gradually advancing, the great being sees from afar the city of Fragrant All-Around, and in its center, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Dharma Protector, who is teaching the Dharma to hundreds of thousands of people. Among the stars, like seeing a friend in the lotus, merely seeing him dispels suffering. Among beasts, like a lion, he is free from all fears. In the center of the four continents, like Mount Meru, he is adorned with many auspicious qualities. Dharma Protector, whom he had longed for from a long time, was seen. At that time, the ocean of his heart was stirred by waves of joy, a happiness that could not even be compared to the bliss of true meditative absorption. Then, the great being thought to himself, 'It is not proper for me to go to the virtuous friend while riding in a chariot,' and so he descended from his own chariot. As soon as he descended, five hundred maidens also descended from the chariots. Then, the Bodhisattva, surrounded and led by the merchant's daughter and five hundred other maidens, went to the city of Fragrant All-Around with an exceedingly beautiful appearance. Gradually advancing, they arrived at the city made of seven precious jewels, with a water area and width of twelve yojanas each. It was a prosperous, peaceful, bountiful city, filled with many people, surrounded by seven layers of precious walls, seven layers of moats, and seven layers of horse stables. Five hundred level streets were filled like a painted scroll, with bridges built in between. The city was completely surrounded by iron fences made of seven precious jewels. The battlements were made of gold from the Jambu River, tall and well-proportioned, and on top of all the battlements were trees of seven precious jewels, bearing fruits of various precious jewels.

Fruits are abundant, and smoke rises. From all of that, precious dewdrops arise, connecting the second tree to the others. All those cities are covered with nets of swaying golden bells. When the wind blows, they emit soft and pleasing sounds, from which arise profound and vast Dharma teachings such as emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, causing the minds of those beings to turn away from samsara and allowing the seeds of emptiness to universally grow. Those beings spend their time in play and enjoyment, indulging in joy. Furthermore, outside that city, there is a pond filled with water possessing eight qualities. Those waters are also covered with many beautiful and fragrant lotuses, water lilies, and white lotuses. There is nothing among all the types of flowers that exist in the three thousand worlds that cannot be found there. In that water, there are boats made of various jewels that arise from the past merits of those beings. Those beings enter them and frolic and play to their heart's content. The bottom is like a spread-out pile of jewels, The walls are like the splendor of an autumn rainbow, The eaves are like a topknot tied with white clouds, Like a gathering of all beauty in one place. This collection of wonders, rarities, and virtues, Once seen, greatly stirs the mind. Like blue beryl being melted and poured down, The great ocean moves the body with waves, It is the ornament that gives rise to the beauty of the city. Beautiful in form, pleasing to the mind, and filled with fragrance, Who is it that wears fine clothes made of various flowers, And seems to have abandoned Mount Sumeru and come here? Blue and clear, with a beautiful body, free from the stain of impurity, With a face like a blooming lotus, with shining stamens, With long, dark, and lustrous bee-like eyes, Possessing the swelling of breasts like jeweled boats. The waves wear necklaces, Joyfully, these bodies themselves, In the palace of the jeweled pond, When seeing the dancing play. The fullness of youth shines with bright radiance, The topknot is especially dignified by the weight of the fruit, The neck is adorned with a necklace of jeweled bells, Arrow shaft.
