Not considering the cold in my mind, and without looking at directions and orientations, go eastward from here, and you will hear the Prajnaparamita. Furthermore, do not be attached to the pleasures of existence, abandon all other activities of conceptualization. On the excellent path of non-conceptual one-pointedness, if you enter well, you will accomplish your desired goals. If one is caught in the net of clinging to reality, liberation will be far away and bound to existence. Therefore, one should dispel all the darkness of conceptualization with the lamp of non-conceptualization and then proceed. Then, that great being, although not possessing a throat, and not originating from teeth and palate, and without the movement of the tongue, heard the words that skillfully showed the excellent path, a beautiful and pleasant sound. Just as it was shown, he followed it in that way. By the power of this diligence, when he saw the profound nature of searching for the endless expanse of the sky, he feared that he would see his own end, and thought that the sky was telling him the way. Again, from that sound, he heard these words: Abandon far away the foolishness of the night and sinful friends, rely closely on emptiness and virtuous friends, and if you destroy desires and the flower-arrowed one (Cupid), you will see the Gone Beyond and the Dharma speaker who teaches it. Just as one enjoys a body of a maiden of illusion, one should abandon the virtuous friend who is not trusted and who skillfully enjoys desires, and one should rely on one with a mind free from defilements. Like clouds moving gently in the sky, like the clear and majestic sound of a dragon's roar, the pleasant sound of good news that falls into the heart, that wonderful instruction and stream of nectar, when entering through the path of hearing, the mind is freed from the plague of suffering. Then, that great Bodhisattva, in order to subdue the arrogance of the demon of clinging to reality, entered the solitary path in order to seek the mantra of emptiness. In that way, having taken the instruction from that sound, he went to the east, and before long, he thought: Alas! I did not ask that sound how far I should go, and so he wept and grieved, and remained in that direction. Even if there is no firewood in the mind, the great fire of suffering is blazing fiercely,

Even though the clear sky had no clouds, A torrent of tears poured down. Thus, for seven days, just as a mother whose only child has died has no other thought in her mind but grief, I had no other thought but "When will I hear the Prajñāpāramitā?" and remained in that very place. After seven days had passed, he saw before him a very beautiful and pleasing image of the Tathāgata, which captivated the mind with its mere sight. Free from the stains of affliction, In the mirror of his mind, The image of the wisdom of the Victorious One, Appeared clearly like an illusion. Then, that image of the Tathāgata spoke to him, saying, "Good, good, son of good family! Just as you, with steadfast vows, seek virtuous friends and teachings, so too did the Tathāgatas of the past seek them completely. Son of good family, go to the east! Five hundred yojanas from here, there is a city called Gandhapūrṇa (Fragrant Full), where a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva named Dharma-uttara (Superior Dharma) resides, who has long been your virtuous friend. Son of good family, just as you are now seeking the Prajñāpāramitā, so too did he completely seek the Prajñāpāramitā in the past. Therefore, do not interrupt your contemplation, continue forward, and before long you will hear the Prajñāpāramitā." Having spoken these words, the Bodhisattva Sadāprarudita (Ever Weeping) was filled with joy and happiness, pervading his body and mind. Just as a person struck by a poisoned arrow thinks only of when he will find a doctor who can extract the arrow and relieve his suffering, without giving rise to any other thought, so too, the wisdom vajra that can uproot the thick fortress of the view of the aggregates, the final day that can burn all the weeds of objects, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Dharma-uttara who can bestow the eye of wisdom upon those who are blind in intelligence, when will I
