May it be like a young prince seeing himself about to leave the joyful gardens of the heavens and the heavenly maidens. Having arisen with such a thought, may he not be attached even slightly to the excellent bliss of the pure realms, but for the sake of inferior sentient beings, may he desire to take birth through skillful means of aspiration and the power of love, in accordance with their respective dispositions, just as one who is extremely thirsty hears talk of water. If he sees that it will benefit those sentient beings, then even into the place of the Avici hell, may he enter without hesitation, just as the king of swans enters a great lake that is well adorned with lotus groves and is exceedingly clear. May he fearlessly engage in the activity of liberating those sentient beings from hundreds of thousands of sufferings, just as a brave father enters the battlefield for the sake of his beloved son who has fallen in battle. May he generate great joy and supreme delight merely by accomplishing the benefit of those sentient beings, like a poor person finding a treasure. In order to dispel the heat of the afflictions of those sentient beings, may he gladly enter the ocean of suffering, just as an elephant oppressed by the heat of summer enters the water at the height of the sun. In short, when I attain perfect and complete enlightenment in the future, may merely reciting or remembering the name of that Victorious One cause to appear before them the body of the Sugata, adorned with countless qualities of a great mass of light, clearly and distinctly abiding, surrounded by bodhisattvas, shravakas, and pratyekabuddhas, and showing limitless activities such as walking, standing, sitting, and lying down in the sky, and subduing the maras. May they directly see countless gods, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, gandharvas, kinnaras, mahoragas, and others holding immeasurable offerings and making offerings. In the instant of seeing, may all the faults in their minds that incline towards samsara and nirvana be uprooted, and may they be joined solely to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Pure!

Among countless pure lands, may mine be the most outstanding. May all the qualities of the Pure Land of Perfect Vision Be gathered in my own pure land, And may it become the supreme land, surpassing all others. To purify this land, so difficult to purify, Even on each tiny atom, May there be pure lands equal to the number of atoms, And may all of them be filled with buddhas and their retinues. Before each of those buddhas, May I make offerings with limitless offerings Holding all aspects of the Dharma, And may I never tire of making offerings, even for a moment. To accomplish that supreme pure land, From beginningless time until the end of existence, For as many eons as there are, May I never be daunted when entering those eons. For as long as space pervades, Until all sentient beings attain omniscience, Even though I still need to learn the bodhisattva conduct, May my effort never weaken for the sake of the supreme state. May the mind that abandons sentient beings And hopes for one's own benefit never arise, And may I be skilled in means and wholeheartedly work for the benefit of others, Without being confused about how to accomplish the welfare of others. When all the bodhisattvas who adorn my pure land See sentient beings in impure lands, May they be moved by unbearable compassion And become protectors of beings through skillful means. Even by merely uttering and remembering my name, May all those tormented by the results of sinful actions Fully attain the glory of perfect bliss, And may they ascend the staircase to the supreme vehicle. By representing just a fraction of the biographies of the buddhas' children, May all obstacles to the bodhisattva conduct be pacified, And may all conducive resources Be obtained merely by thinking of them. May the teacher Shakyamuni, Amitabha, Maitreya, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Avalokiteshvara, And all the sugatas with their retinues, Through the unfailing truth of dependent origination, Quickly accomplish these aspirations. This aspiration prayer for taking birth in Sukhavati, called "Opening the Door to the Supreme Land," was composed by the glorious Losang Drakpa at the temple of Rzingphu (rzing phyi, located in the Shannan region of Tibet today), and the writing was done by Pani Sangkyong (pa ni bzang skyong). A poem about the enlightenment story of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sadāprarudita, called the Wish-Fulfilling Tree.

I prostrate to all. Whoever realizes that all collections of elaborations, like a hundred-petaled lotus touched by frost, are completely uprooted from their roots, this is the profound path. Those who strive to accomplish it through hundreds of thousands of difficulties are victorious. In the past, before many past Buddhas, those who matured through the power of extraordinary heightened intention, the holy son of the Buddhas, Sadāprarudita, how he relied on the holy Dharma for the sake of the Dharma, this will now be explained. Whoever generates the power of diligence that does not consider body and life, then even the unsurpassed Bodhi, which is difficult to hear even the name of in countless eons, is not difficult to obtain, what need is there to mention the perfections of higher realms? Therefore, wise people who understand that the happiness of existence is as fickle as Indra's bow, should strive to generate the power of diligence in order to accomplish lasting happiness. Thus, the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha, the foremost of the sons who proclaims with inexhaustible sound, having accumulated vast roots of virtue before many Buddhas, having fully matured his being and faculties, having donned the great armor of non-retrogression from unsurpassed, perfectly complete Bodhi, the great hero with a mind unafraid to destroy the retinue of the black faction, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Sadāprarudita, in the past, when practicing the vast conduct of a Bodhisattva, did not consider gain, respect, or verses, and disregarded all suffering that harmed body and life, seeking instructions and guidance from virtuous friends, so it was heard. Through the power of intensely habituated compassion, which is under the control of others for immeasurable eons, having become one who bears the great burden of striving for the benefit of sentient beings, the supreme Bodhisattvas never turn away from the conduct of Bodhi, who can stop the flow of the Ganges River flowing into the ocean? Thus, that great being, in order to seek the Prajnaparamita, went to a solitary place, and in a place where form was not visible, heard a sound like this: 'Son of good family, you should tire your body.'
