Alas! Lacking the intention to reflect on one's own faults, relying on the bonds of fame and reverence. Even if there are some hidden holy beings, the darkness of jealousy and arrogance obscures the eye of wisdom, making it extremely difficult to enter the path of seeing. I, too, have heard many aspects of teachings for years, and have also inquired about some so-called profound instructions. In the end, I understood the intention of the Sons of the Conquerors (Bodhisattvas): Following hearing, practice is the essence, which leads to easy liberation from the fortress of rebirth. Although this is the case, I still developed a strong interest in practice. However, everywhere it is said that there are uncommon instructions for attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body. If compared to what is said in the scriptures, let alone generating the actual path, even generating the qualities that can become a vessel for the path seems difficult. They say they don't even want the attainment of the lower vehicles in their dreams, but it seems that not even a sesame seed's worth of self-interest has been reduced. They claim to have outstanding experience in the essential points of the path, but they have not transcended the eight worldly concerns for even a moment. They do not believe that the characteristic of the All-Knowing One is that cause and effect are infallible, but instead think that they can deceive cause and effect, and claim to be secret mantra practitioners, thereby abandoning what to adopt and abandon. In such a situation, I have not found anyone who can cut through all doubts. You can directly ask the Buddha, so please convey these questions to the Geshe, please keep them in mind. This is a letter offered by Je Tsongkhapa to Khenchen Chakdorwa of Lhodrak. The basis for practicing pure enlightenment has two supports: the support of the body and the support of the mind. First, it is necessary to have the eighteen qualities of leisure and endowment. This is because beings in the lower realms are tormented by unbearable suffering, while gods and asuras have little aversion. Therefore, when I obtain leisure and endowment, I must practice enlightenment. If one thinks that even if the bodily support for enlightenment is leisure and endowment, it is okay to practice it when it is obtained in another life, then obtaining it...

Regarding contemplation on "Ka," it is twofold: from the perspective of result and cause. Firstly, considering the differences and similarities among beings, contemplating the difficulty of attainment is twofold. First, relative to animals, merely obtaining a human body seems rare. Second, relative to humans, a leisure and endowment body seems rare. Considering from the perspective of cause, there are two: contemplating from the general cause and from the specific cause. First, even to obtain a human body, one must accumulate virtuous actions with strong power, and this is very rare. Second, as the cause of leisure and endowment, one needs to maintain pure morality as the foundation, with the help of generosity and other virtues, and connect with pure aspirations, and these are also very rare. If one thinks that even if it is difficult to obtain, now it has been obtained, and now there is finally time to practice, then contemplating impermanence has three aspects: the certainty of death, the uncertainty of when death will occur, and that every moment is relentlessly moving towards death. The basis of contemplation can be summarized into renunciation, Bodhicitta, and view, because the roots of virtue for liberation and omniscience necessarily depend on these three, or are encompassed by them. The cause of omniscience can be summarized into the latter two, but considering the cause of both, it can be divided into three. This division is to identify those dharmas that can become the cause of Bodhi merely by being born, without relying on other factors. If aversion that can overwhelm the happiness and wealth of samsara does not arise, the thought of seeking liberation will not arise, so renunciation is needed. Even if aversion arises seeking supreme Bodhi, if it is not for the sake of others, it will not become the cause of Bodhi, so Bodhicitta must be cultivated. Even if the desire for liberation and omniscience is aroused through these two, the bondage of self-grasping cannot be severed, so the view must be cultivated. Since there is no certainty in the order of faculties, there is no certainty in the order. Thus, after contemplating the reasons for cultivating these, cultivating renunciation is the root of appearance. First, wanting to prove oneself as other, one needs to observe faults from various aspects. Then, in order to dispel attachment to samsara.
