In order to make (the Dharma) flourish everywhere, this establishment of monastic discipline is made with the hope that all people of high and low status will each bear great responsibility, and in order to make the precious doctrine flourish, please maintain the foundation of this monastic discipline. May the monasteries flourish through reading, and may they become auspicious through recitation. May the Sangha always be harmonious, and may the affairs of the Sangha also be accomplished. May the monks who wish to learn, obtain secluded places, completely cut off all distractions, and may the mind become capable and meditate. On the fourth day of the waxing moon of the fifth month of the Bird year, in the Lha Shol hermitage (lha zhol dben gnas) of Jampa Ling (byams pa gling) of the King of Snow Mountains, Wo De Gungyal (འོ་དེ་གུང་རྒྱལ་), the fully accomplished great virtuous friend Losang Drakpa (བློ་བཟང་གྲགས་པ་, Tsongkhapa) gave instructions, and the first minor precept was established for the upholders of discipline, the holders of the scriptures, and those who cherish the precious jewel-like doctrine. ༈ A Short Practice of Guru Yoga. Take refuge and generate Bodhicitta. In the space in front, on top of a precious throne supported by eight great lions, on a seat of various lotuses, moon, and sun, the root guru, whose essence is the guru, whose form is the Bhagavan Vajradhara the Great, with a blue body, one face and two arms, the right hand holding a vajra, the left hand holding a bell, crossed at the heart, adorned with the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor signs, the hair tied in a topknot, adorned with a precious crown, earrings, necklace, armlets, bracelets, and anklets, wearing a silk skirt of various colors. On his forehead is a white Oṃ (ༀ, Oṃ, Om, body), at his throat is a red Āḥ (ཨཱཿ, Āḥ, Ah, speech), and at his heart is a blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ, Hūṃ, Hum, mind). From the Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ, Hūṃ, Hum, mind) at his heart, light radiates, inviting the root and lineage gurus, as well as the yidam mandala Buddhas and Bodhisattvas immeasurable and boundless, and they dissolve into it. The dakinis and dharma protectors hold various fierce weapons, abiding in the four directions, four corners, and the upper and lower directions, eliminating all obstacles. Offer the mandala, and after praying, from the white Oṃ (ༀ, Oṃ, Om, body) on the guru's forehead, white light radiates and dissolves into one's own forehead, purifying the sins and obscurations of the body, and receiving the vase empowerment.

The form of the body merges. From the red ĀḤ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: A) in the throat, red rays of light arise. It dissolves into one's own throat. The obscurations of speech are purified. One obtains the secret empowerment. The form of speech merges. From the blue HŪṂ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) in the heart, blue rays of light arise. It dissolves into one's own heart. The defilements of the mind are purified. One obtains the empowerment of wisdom and knowledge. The form of mind merges. From the three syllables of body, speech, and mind, white, red, and blue rays of light arise. They dissolve into one's own body, speech, and mind in general. All the defilements of body, speech, and mind in general, and the defilements of habitual tendencies are purified. One obtains the fourth empowerment, the precious word empowerment. Thinking that the form of the great Vajradhara, inseparable from body, speech, and mind, merges, the consciousness that remains in its ordinary state as HŪṂ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) emerges from the Brahma aperture at the crown of the head. Vajrayogini is red, with one face and two arms, holding a curved knife and a skull cup. In front of oneself, from YAṂ (Tibetan: ཡཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: यं, Sanskrit Romanization: yaṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Yang) arises a blue wind mandala, shaped like a bow. Above that, from RAṂ (Tibetan: རཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: रं, Sanskrit Romanization: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Rang) arises a red fire mandala, triangular in shape. Above that, from ĀḤ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: A) arise three supports of human heads. Vajrayogini places the skull, severed from the brow of one's own body in its ordinary state, on the three supports of human heads, becoming equal to the three thousand worlds. The left hand, left foot, right hand, right foot, and vase-like body are sequentially thrown into the skull cup. The wind below stirs, igniting the fire. Inside the boiling substances in the skull cup, the three syllables OṂ (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), ĀḤ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: A), and HŪṂ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) abide, from which light radiates. The nectar of wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is invoked. It dissolves into the three syllables. Together with the syllables, it falls into the skull cup, becoming a great ocean of wisdom nectar. From the heart of Vajrayogini, countless Vajrayoginis holding skull cups emanate, filling the skull cup with the nectar and offering it to the root guru. One contemplates that the guru is pleased. It is offered to the deities of the Yidam mandala, countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, all of whom are pleased. It is offered to countless Dakinis and Dharma protectors, all of whom become powerful. Furthermore, it is offered to all sentient beings of the six realms, may their suffering be ended.
