It is difficult to benefit the foolish, and it is also difficult to find happiness in this world. Those who understand the way that does not contradict the other world, the wise call them intelligent. This is the advice given by the Shakya monk Lobsang Drakpa (Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug school) to Gompa Drakpa Rinchen, who possesses the wealth of wisdom. May she grant happiness and well-being to all beings, she who fulfills the wishes of those who take refuge in her, the noble Tara who bears the burden of saving suffering beings, I respectfully prostrate to her. Those who have fallen into the great ocean of suffering, I will liberate them, to fulfill this great vow, compassionate mother, your lotus feet, those who reverently worship with their heads, will obtain the beautiful face of finding a good leisure and endowment. I will briefly speak of beneficial words, please listen with sincere intention. If you do not repeatedly cultivate the thought of death, which is certain to come and will come quickly, virtuous thoughts will not arise, and even if they do, they will only be focused on pursuing the perfections of this life. Therefore, when you see or hear of the death of others, contemplate in your mind that such a situation will quickly come to me, and it is uncertain when it will come. At that time, body, wealth, friends, and all will be separated, and only virtuous and non-virtuous actions will follow like shadows. Non-virtuous actions will bring the suffering of the three lower realms, which is long-lasting and intense, and virtuous actions will lead us through the happy realms, quickly attaining the state of victory. You should understand this and contemplate it daily. Having contemplated in this way, you should strive to take refuge. You should learn the five lay vows praised by the Buddha and make them compatible with your mind. On specific days, you should take and protect the eight precepts of the sojong with great care. In particular, you should abstain from intoxicating drinks that cause downfall in both this life and the next, which are condemned by the holy ones. Therefore, you who have a beautiful face, you should completely turn away from this bad action. Anything that ultimately brings suffering when indulged in, even if it seems pleasant at the moment, should not be relied upon. Have you not seen that everyone avoids delicious food mixed with poison? You should diligently engage in virtuous actions such as offering to the Three Jewels every day.

Confess the sins committed in the past, and in the future, keep the vows more and more strictly. Dedicate the accumulated merits to the attainment of Buddhahood. In short, at the time of birth and death, alone Born alone and dying alone, friends and relatives will deceive you. The supreme thing that does not deceive is the true Dharma. This short life is as fleeting as lightning. No matter what, seek ultimate and lasting happiness. Now is the right time to practice, think carefully. Do not let the precious leisure and endowment be wasted. With whatever merit is gained from such teachings, may I not be proud of happiness, nor collapse from suffering, may all beings live by the joy of Dharma, turning away from seeking the benefits of this life. This is the field of merit for beings, skilled in drawing Buddha images. At the request of the one named Paldan, the Gelug monk Lobsang Drakpa said. This is a verse encouraging to take the essence of leisure and endowment. By skillful means, giving beings temporary and ultimate happiness, the incomparable teacher, may he grant you happiness and auspiciousness day and night. You have excellent faith and strong strength, wisdom and wealth are not lacking, holding the discipline of a noble lineage, I believe you have pure intentions in this regard. Even so, due to many entanglements, once distracted, the body cannot bear it, in this state, it is impossible to accomplish the two benefits, especially your own wishes cannot be fulfilled. Seeing this, postpone the plan to go there for a while. To this, wise you, please forgive. Even if the good deed is not completed, be satisfied with as much as you have done. Even if you don't drink all the water in the river, drinking some water will quench your thirst. May you, with such merit, hold all the Buddhas' true Dharma in all lifetimes. This was written by the learned monk Lobsang Drakpa at the request of Gyama Tripon Chenpo Rinchen Gyaltsen to come to Gyama again and again. ༈ ༀ་བདེ་ལེགས་སུ་གྱུར་ཅིག། (Tibetan, ༀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) May there be auspiciousness! The incomparable teacher, the leader of the Shakya clan, the only protector of all beings, the great Bhagavan Shakyamuni, the shining light on the heads of all Buddha-sons, Manjushri,
