It would be excellent if all were devoted to the Dharma. Like Avalokiteśvara in Potala, may one subdue one's own mind with compassion in this palace as well. Like Bolong Sang, may one soften one's mind, and like Moshambu, may one be free from anger, that would be excellent. In this place secluded from the fear of Zora, expand one's thoughts amidst the crowds, and practice the conduct of taming like Zogi. Even if overwhelmed, it would be excellent to cultivate diligence. Pure white like the radiance of yogurt and white lotus, seeing your beauty captivates the minds of others. We should all respectfully accomplish this, abandoning the affairs of worldly entanglements, that would be excellent. By reducing attachment to pleasures, continue the diligence cultivated for many years. Without being controlled by distractions such as gambling, it would be excellent to achieve final accomplishment in this matter. In between the letter "Ho," all the initial letters are skillfully combined in ways that make it difficult to determine the pronunciation of the letter "O." This was composed by the learned Tsongkhapa, when Losang Drakpa was engaged in Dharma activities. ༈ ༀ་བདེ་ལེགས་སུ་གྱུར་ཅིག། Om, may there be auspiciousness and well-being! The lineage of the Victorious One, who guides the world, making the teachings of the Sage like the light of day, illuminating the path to liberation for many beings, may the lord of the teachings be victorious forever! May the beautiful reputation adorn the path of hearing, and with vast wisdom and extensive intellect, may you empower the precious island of scriptures. Wise one, by your virtuous deeds, spreading greatly in the eastern direction, fulfilling the hopes of beings, having become the king of precious power, the written letter sent with a gift of sandalwood has been received. At that time, wisdom bestows the glory of happiness, the chariot of the mind is driven by the wind of joy, and the garland of beautiful poetic words brought forth in this way scatters from the throat. Supreme prince who holds the sacred Dharma of the Victorious Ones, with clear understanding, and his eldest son, named Yeshe Gyaltsen, flourish in all directions. Although the teachings were greatly propagated in the past, they have become very degenerate due to the influence of the times. Having seen this situation, in order to propagate the teachings, it is heard that you are dedicating yourself to combining disciples who listen to instructions with the great treatises. Since you are still dedicated to this, what need is there for encouragement from someone like me? Do not abandon the pure and great burden you have taken on, do not give up, persevere to the end.

是贤妙诸尊之规。 汝身于福田稳固安住， 善妙白净事业增广之方便， 甚深缘起诸多门径中， 恳请勤奋修持。 如是于七月十五日，从卓日沃且（今甘丹寺）格鲁派尊胜洲所献礼物之象征，奉献一件完好无损的红色氆氇，并附上此封缄。 此乃宗喀巴仁波切对绛喇嘛请示信函之回复。 凭借慈悲甘露之一滴， 赐予品尝殊胜经藏之荣耀。 文殊上师清净事业之加持， 愿具足智慧之汝获胜！ 胜地雪域边陲安乐之城， 自生圣者加持之土地。 彼处有无与伦比之善知识， 广大佛法之眼仁达巴， 其足下近侍芒热巴， 戒律精严博学功德幢， 以具义美妙之书信， 令我心欢喜踊跃。 善说之法不乏精进之勇士， 汝圣者所出之善说语， 获得一些前所未有之物，且今后， 为了一些经续之精要， 故云长久住于彼处甚佳。 何故耶？因如实通达经藏要义后， 于寂静森林中， 如法修行之外无有其他稀奇。 之后云往克什米尔尼泊尔学梵语， 谓众生之， 根性诸多，若仅为此， 若任其所为，谁又能奈何？ 若非如此，舍弃成办大事之途径， 专心致志于小事， 乃应舍弃之大过，所需甚少之处， 未经锻炼之智慧亦当远离。 我亦于格鲁山宽广之处， 舍弃散乱，品尝寂静之味， 于经续道之究竟处， 以禅修之精进，内心欢喜安住。 祈愿具德上师安乐喜悦而行， 月亮之善妙行持增长， 故心中生喜，不久之后， 即将请示之书信奉于尊前。 通达理路之殊胜智慧

Thus, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, as a symbol of the gift offered from Drok Riwo Che (Ganden Monastery) Gelug Nampar Gyalwai Ling, I offer a complete and excellent red woolen cloth with this seal attached. This is the reply of Je Rinpoche to the request letter of Jang Lama. Even by the inclusion of a drop of compassion, it bestows the glory of experiencing the supreme taste of the scriptures. By the pure activity of Jamyang Lama, may you, a son endowed with wisdom, be victorious! In the victorious land, the pleasant city on the border of Tibet, a place blessed by the self-arisen Arya. There, the incomparable spiritual friend, the great Dharma eye, Redawa, at whose feet is the attendant Mangrawa, the one who strives in discipline, is greatly learned, and has the banner of qualities, has delighted my mind with a meaningful and melodious letter. You are a hero whose courage is not diminished in the face of the excellent teachings, and the excellent words that come from you, a holy being, have yielded some unprecedented things, and still, for the sake of some essence of the sutras and tantras, it is good to say that you should stay there for a long time. Why? Because after truly understanding the essential meaning of the scriptures, there is no other wonder than to practice properly in the peaceful forest. Then, to say that one should go to Kashmir and Nepal to learn Sanskrit is because the natures of sentient beings are many, and if one were to give in to that, who could do anything about it? If not, abandoning the path of accomplishing great things and focusing on small things is a great fault to be abandoned, and even untrained wisdom should stay away from places where there is little need. I too, on the wide expanse of Geden Mountain, having abandoned distractions, am tasting the flavor of solitude, and at the ultimate places of the paths of sutra and tantra, I am happy and content with the effort of meditation. May the glorious Lama be well and happy, and may the virtuous actions of the moon increase, so that joy arises in the mind, and before long, the letter of request will be offered to your presence. Supreme wisdom that is well-versed in the path of reasoning.
