According to me, if the recitation and practice methods of that scripture are combined and made into the root face of the wrathful deity, it would be too much. Even if a single deity has many central faces like that, there is no contradiction, just like the eleven-faced Avalokiteśvara. Except for the eight encircling corpses, there has been no case where the space between the left and right has been made the root face. If this teacher thinks so, since he is the one who introduced this tantra, there should be many followers who explain it in that way, but since nothing has happened, this is very doubtful. This doubt! Because the practice method was made by that teacher, and you yourself have also made it, there is nothing to say about it. It seems that the statement that the first two faces are the root faces is being refuted, so you also have great doubts about that, don't you? If the arrangement of the faces is understood in that way, then there should be many followers of this, but it does not appear. Because this person living in Tibet must create a Chinese practice method, that sign is also uncertain. Just as the forty-nine deities in the large and small practice methods of Lalita and the practice method of the nine deities do not appear in other Chinese texts in this direction. Just as it is said that Mañjuśrī is generated in the forty-nine deities and destroys obstacles, just as the explanation of the eight encircling corpses is, the practice of the ten wrathful deities does not appear in other Chinese texts in this direction. The answer to the examination of the arrangement of the faces is finished. In the case of holding hand implements, in the small practice method of Lalita, it is said that the first two hands hold the elephant skin. Following that, Śrī Bhadra and Mañjuśrījñāna also said the same. Dpal 'dzin said that the first four hands hold the elephant skin. Similarly, it is also said in the commentaries of Sona Śrī and Vajrasiddhi. From these, the intention of the tantra here is that the first of the thirty-four hands holds the curved knife, because in the first chapter, when the hand implements are arranged in order on the robes of the mandala deities, it starts with the curved knife. Ra, Kyo, Zhag, Sum, Mal, Lo, Ca-ba, the oral instructions of the lineage seen in Tibet, and the four traditions consulted with the learned Paṇḍita masters who possess the oral instructions of the lineage also placed the curved knife in the first of the four directions. The literal meaning of the commentary and the practice method does not seem to be different.

Shantipa (Tibetan: ཞི་བའི་ཡེ་ཤེས།) said that the right face has three heads and horns, and Jnanakara (Tibetan: ཛྙཱ་ན་ཀ་ར།) said it has a tiger skin, but saying that the first face is a buffalo, naked and black in color, etc., seems to contradict the Seven Distinctions and the Hevajra Tantra. To refute the statement that the first two hands hold a bull hide, it should be answered that Lalita also quoted the statement that the first two hands hold a bull hide, and this teacher is the one who directly received the tantra from Oddiyana (Tibetan: ཨྱོན་), so while considering him reliable in this aspect, denying that the first two hands do not hold a bull hide, and not stating that this is his intention, if there is no other intention, then it contradicts the commitment, and if there is another intention, it must also be explained, but it cannot be found. Because the placement of hand symbols on the deity cloth of the mandala starts from the curved knife, the sign is very uncertain. If so, then the first placement of hand symbols on the mandala is the head in the east, as stated in both the tantra and the Forty-Nine Dharmas, so the first hand must hold the head, and there are many inconsistencies in the placement of hand symbols on the deity cloth of the mandala, and the order in which the hands hold the hand symbols, especially placing the bull hide under the three-pronged spear and before the vajra hammer is also unreasonable, and the last placement on the deity cloth is the fire pit, so the last hand must hold it. Some statements of Tibetan lamas who listened to Indians sometimes coincide, but you should not assume that all situations are the same, so using this as a sign to prove that reason is also uncertain, especially the mistakes of Pandit Shantipa and Jnanakara make the sign of direct agreement with the Pandit very uncertain. The so-called Pandit scholar cannot be considered more intelligent than the Pandits listened to by the Tibetan Rwa, etc. We ourselves divide the first hand into two parts, meaning that there are other Indians who say the same, but we do not say that because they say so, there is no harm. Therefore, the Seven Distinctions and the Samputa Tantra. The first two hands on the left and right hold a curved knife and a skull cup.
