Oh! When offering clothes to the Sangha, it does not belong to the scope of the Sangha. It is said that being good at speaking, not being an ordained monk, and having a complete set of Dharma robes are the four conditions that must be met. It is added that if someone intends to offer clothes to a monk in a certain place, if they accept without offering, they will not commit this offense. Great faith means offering with the intention of seeking merit. Being good at speaking means teaching the Dharma. Ordination means not being either of the above two, but ordaining others. Complete Dharma robes mean lacking any of the clothes permitted by the Blessed One. Considering whether to accept or not will not lead to an offense. The perception is the same as before, and the motivation is to want to accept without offering. The action is to accept without speaking, and it is not permissible to use any expression other than language, so it must be accepted in a way that has linguistic characteristics. The so-called ultimate limb, and the statement "observing its initial measure," refers to having a definite idea about it. The so-called Bhikshuni means for exchange and not for enjoyment. The object of begging for clothes is: a householder who has either of the two monastic vows and possesses any of the signs; an ordinary body; possessing five names; different in self and substance; not a relative; and not having given freely before being begged, these six are the conditions that must be met. It is said that the following three, as well as searching for a bowl, two kinds of weaving, and searching for a large piece of cloth, can be inferred by analogy. The so-called not giving freely before being begged means that if it must be done so that it is not given unless begged, then the second case is that there was a desire to give before, but the giving is not certain, begging means: because this is said to be an offense, so for this situation, it should be added that it is not reserved for oneself, or the reservation is uncertain. Because this is mainly an offense from the perspective of the support, so from the perspective of the support, it is an offense, so there must be a complete set of clothes. Even having three Dharma robes is not enough, because even if there is a lack of necessities, one can beg, but this situation is not allowed. This and the following three situations should also be added that there is no hard mat laid out. The objects of begging are: suitable clothes, conforming to size, and belonging to the donor himself, it is said that these four are the conditions that must be met.

It is necessary to examine the application of the limb of recognition to these things. Ultimately, it seems reasonable to say that a thought of attainment arises in these things. Is it acceptable to think that it is sufficient? As for the qualified, in the commentary, if no distinction is made between colors, etc., and one generally asks for something, even if one obtains anything, it is an expiatory offense. As it says in the root text: "Value and color, and whatever is asked for from length." Therefore, if there is no specific intention for the measure, then anything more than one cubit is the actual object. It is the same for value and color. If there is a specific intention, such as five cubits of cloth and five karshapanas, and when asking for cloth, if one obtains more than those, there is no offense. Therefore, it is necessary to obtain what is asked for. Then, even if the value and length become smaller, it is acceptable, but if one obtains more of something else, what happens? The commentary says, "Here, there is no offense for something else." It should be considered that this refers to something that becomes different, not that there is no offense for obtaining more of the same kind. Therefore, it should be examined whether the cloths are different or of the same kind, or whether the times of obtaining are different or of the same kind. If one asks for provisions but does not obtain cloth, or if one does not ask for cloth but thinks that one can obtain a large piece of cloth and a small piece of cloth and asks for it, even if one obtains it, there is no fault. Its nature is that the material of the thread of the same kind is wool. What is appropriate to ask for is called blessing, that is, whichever of the thirteen requisites is missing, one asks for that one. In short, whatever of the objects of a monk's requisites causes him to be busy, there is no offense in asking for something that is not that. That is the agent, the monk agent, not the Dharma garment, because it is missing. The object and thing here are the same as before, but the measure is asking for one cubit more than a pair, or because it is not given. Regarding the basis, some say that there are not three things to be blessed, and some say that there are none at all. The latter is not correct, and the former should also be examined. In the commentary, it says: "Like the thirteen requisites, it is appropriate to ask for anything that is missing." Therefore, the "that" of the agent refers to what is appropriate to ask for. Therefore, it should also be examined whether it is acceptable to lack any one of them. Here, for different donors, the limit of not asking for more than this amount is determined.
