To become pure. The second is: Shogam is like a guardian wielding power. The third is: like a father's jewel wielding power. The fourth has three: what is offered to the Buddha is: only that wields power. There are two for Dharma: what is offered to the ultimate Dharma, only that wields power, because it cannot be used by individuals. There are two for interpretive Dharma: what is offered to the Dharma of practice is: the gains of the Sangha, because they possess that lineage. What is offered to the Dharma of scripture is: one or more verses of treatises wield power. There are two for the Sangha: how to become the master of timely and sudden gains, how to become the master of the gains of the deceased's belongings. The first has two: how to become the master of timely gains is: hard objects belong there and wield power, and summer gains that last for a long time become the master. There are four kinds of sudden gains: becoming law, accomplished through boundaries, individually determined, and manifested. How the patron or offering place wields power becomes law, what is offered to the Sangha without distinction, those belonging to the same boundary all wield power, if it is said to be offered to a certain Sangha or a certain person, they wield power, what is present in front of the patron himself wields power, in order. For the belongings of the deceased, who becomes the master, there are two: the belongings of the deceased who are ordained and marked, who becomes the master. The first has two: the Sangha wields power and the gains that do not wield power. There are five of those: what is determined before death, how much the debtor's property is given up, "the Sangha's utensils, the patient's utensils, the gains of living at home. The latter two are: possessing five dharmas to wield power, possessing the five kinds of precepts to be able to restore to the previous state, death, being consistent in view and conduct and having the same name, not having moved out of the residence is common, having done the work of a servant, the distribution of utensils is separate. The remainder is the gains that the Sangha wields power over: placing scriptures and so on, wearing clothes and so on, eating grains and so on as appropriate.

To become the owner of three. In particular, pearls are the domain of the Buddha, and the others are as appropriate. Armor and the like are the domain of the king and his entourage. If asked what is most important, roughly speaking, for the possessions of householders, local customs are most important, and what the Buddha has said by nature is most important. In detail, first determine before death, then the debtor, then the person caring for the sick, then... the lineage is the domain of man. If it is said that "the meaning of the word is held by the lineage of man," then is something taken away by the wind, etc., separated from or not separated from the owner? If it is the weaver's clothes and the monk's utensils that are taken away by the wind and thieves, etc., and the owner abandons the idea of ownership, then it is not separated from the original owner. If taken initially, it will be a defeat, and if taken later, it will be blamed. If the idea of owning it is abandoned later, it will become taking what is not given. If it is said that "it is held by the lineage of man," then what happens if one steals the possessions of a domestic animal that has a human owner? For possessions owned by creatures that do not understand worldly language, the one who manages and cares for them is the owner. If both own it, it is determined by concept, like an ornament hung on a bird. If one thinks, "This belongs to man, how can a bird have it?" then the value should be assessed, otherwise one will be blamed. Does the same apply to stealing food and drink for domestic animals? Yes, it is the same for food and drink. If forest fires, etc., kill wild animals, etc., who is the owner? The internal meaning is that if one takes it not by trapping, but with the mind of stealing, one becomes a thief, because even if there are other owners, only the trapper owns it at that time. Mentioning wild animals, etc., is symbolic, and livestock and trapped people, whether with or without owners, are the same. If the owner of an uncertain object is uncertain, how is the fall determined? If one steals any object, such as treasure, etc., that is uncertain whether it belongs to an owner, then the fall is determined from the very nature of the basis. But not from concept, if it belongs to an owner and the limbs are complete, it is a defeat, and if there is no owner, it is a gross offense.
