Furthermore, if one obtains possessions that are in accordance with the Dharma, one should accept them and practice as instructed. Third, the common actions are that all elders, middle, and newly ordained monks should subdue their senses in the home, not be arrogant, not be haughty, not stay for long periods, be humble, give to the laypeople, subdue their senses, properly restrain body and speech, abide in celibacy by turning away from worldly ways, practice the eight-limbed fast, take refuge, take the basis of training such as the lay vows, and engage in other Dharma-related conversations, but one should not mention the four ways to increase celibacy to those laypeople. Monks who have become part of the Sangha will not be at fault even if they do not do these things, but they should not establish rules that would harm others. Second, how to treat those who are worthy of respect and those who are not: One should show respect to elders with seats and prostrations, etc., from the perspective of learning, but one should not accept their respect. One should not show respect to younger ones with prostrations and seats. Those of equal seniority in vows should not prostrate to each other. Those who came earlier should sit in the higher seat and be given the first distribution of possessions, and those who came later should be assigned work. One should abide with respect, etc., for the elder, younger, and middle celibates. One should not show respect to those who have broken their vows other than the Khenpo and Acharya, but even if the Khenpo and Acharya have broken their vows, one must show respect, but one must first inform the abbot. Even if parents and patients are laypeople, they should be shown respect. Third, how to handle one's own affairs is divided into how to handle virtuous affairs and how to handle ordinary affairs. First, those who have renounced and taken full ordination should not engage in pointless austerities like those of the heretics, especially when obtaining possessions, one should avoid using them without restraint, but should rely on the four ways to increase celibacy, namely wearing rag robes, begging for food, living under trees, and using rotten medicine. Other than the deity one has already practiced, do not dwell in other places.

There will be no faults if one does not rely on discipline. Thus, abiding in abandoning the two extremes, one should not retaliate against others' insults, anger, beatings, and exposing of shortcomings, etc.; one should subsequently accomplish the needs of reading, recitation, and proper attention, etc.; through contemplating the benefits of guarding the precepts and the faults of not guarding them, one should accomplish the precepts with respect and caution; regarding any activity, such as entering a house, that may lead to downfall, one should maintain mindfulness from the very beginning and strive to ensure that no downfall occurs; when doing the work of the guru, etc., one should also ensure with awareness that one's own benefit, meditation, and reading, etc., do not decline, and one should diligently seek what will turn into virtue from these bases of activity. Secondly, how to accomplish ordinary activities is divided into two: how to accomplish bodily adornment and how to accomplish implements. The first is further divided into three: cutting hair, body hair, and nails; bathing; and other bodily activities. The first is further divided into four: the manner of cutting hair, with what to cut, where to cut, and what to do after cutting. The first is that monks in monasteries should keep their hair two finger-widths long, and those on the edge of villages should keep it two and a half finger-widths long, no longer, and should not keep a topknot. Hair should not be cut like cow hair except around wounds, and hair on the private parts, buttocks, and below the throat should not be cut either; when it is necessary to cut for the sake of a wound, one should ask the wise elders before cutting. Nails should also be cut high in the middle and low or flat on the sides, and they should be filed to remove dirt, but should not be painted. Secondly, with what to cut, one should not cut while wearing monastic robes, etc., and the size is "two and a half cubits wide and three cubits long," use a hair-catching cloth that meets this size, or if not, cover the upper body with a dust cloth to cut. Thirdly, where to cut, one should not cut hair, nails, etc., in places where mats are laid out or in places where the Sangha sweeps, and one should not cut hair in corridors, rooms, doorways, etc., during windy, sunny, or rainy weather, and except for the elderly and sick. Fourthly,
