The Monk's Training, Known as Celestial Playground. The Monk's Training, Known as Celestial Playground. The Monk's Training, Known as Celestial Playground, Text. The banner of fame is known in the three realms, The sound of the sacred Dharma proclaims the lion's roar, The All-Knowing One has attained the treasury of the Three Jewels, The jewel of Brahma and Indra's crown touches the feet. Having crossed the fathomless ocean of suffering, I prostrate with my head to the Lord of Beings, The All-Knowing One's training, the vessel of the Three Jewels, Shall be distinguished in the midst of the noble assembly. The discipline of definite renunciation abandons suffering, Destroys the demon of the view of the perishable aggregate, Destroys wealth, earth, and the flower-arrowed one, Before the Buddha, I shall prostrate with my head and speak. All the perfections of this and future lives are accomplished, and the source of eliminating all decline is only the teachings of the Sugata. The way to enter it is from the Treasury: "One who abides in discipline, possessing hearing and thought, should diligently apply himself to meditation." Therefore, whatever one does, whether hearing, thinking, or meditating, one should first base oneself on pure discipline. Therefore, with the support of ordination and full ordination, one should first strive to purify the discipline one has vowed to uphold. Thus, the Protector Nagarjuna said: "First, one should be extremely respectful of the training, the Pratimoksha and the Vinaya, and diligently engage in extensive hearing and definitive understanding of the meaning." Therefore. Thus, the Vinaya, which teaches the places to be trained, is to be respectfully listened to as a substitute for the Teacher after the Lord of Dharma has passed into Nirvana. Having heard it, not to mention gross misdeeds, one must also guard against subtle ones with great diligence, and so on. In the Distinguishing of the King's Teachings, it is said: "I have entered Nirvana, this is your teacher, the Self-Born One with respect, diligently praised before the assembly of monks, this Vinaya is that Pratimoksha, knowing that it is for distinguishing, those who desire liberation should respectfully, diligently listen to this. " It also says: "Having heard it, the great sage, should accomplish as he said, in the actions of subtle faults, diligently doing it is what should be done, the mind, like a wild horse, constantly pursued by diligence, is difficult to tame.

Ah! The sharp nail of taming has been driven in, this rein is the taming. Those great ones who, with mere words, turn back and do not transgress the boundaries, they are good men and horses, and will surely be victorious in the battle of afflictions. Whoever does not have this rein, and never becomes content with desires, they will be disturbed by the battle of afflictions, without a place to settle, wandering everywhere. As it is said. Therefore, for those who have taken ordination and the vows of a fully ordained monk, the way to protect the precepts is threefold: to obtain what has not been obtained, to protect what has been obtained from being lost, and if it is lost, to restore it, without violating the established rules. First, to accomplish the basis of having vows; after it is accomplished, how to protect it. First, the basis by which it is accomplished, the object upon which it is accomplished, and the ritual of how it is accomplished, these three. First, the basis for accomplishing novice monkhood and full ordination, these two. First, the preceptor, the instructor, the person requesting, and the place of request, these four. First, the preceptor: as a condition for being a monk, not being defiled by the root downfall, fearing natural transgressions; as a condition for stability, having completed ten years uninterruptedly after receiving full ordination; as a condition for being learned, knowing the Vinaya; as a condition for benefiting, having the same view, having the same precepts, possessing the three names, the body abiding in normalcy, the place abiding in its nature, possessing compassion, possessing patience, the inner circle being pure, striving for the benefit of Dharma and material things, admonishing at the right time, these are the ten qualities. The so-called admonishing at the right time is to show the disciple what should be learned in accordance with the Dharma after becoming a preceptor. As it is said in the scriptures: Well done! The Blessed One said: Monks, it is not permissible to allow a butcher to be ordained, and then abandon him after he has been fully ordained. This being will go to hell, and I will also fall along with the downfall, therefore I should not ordain him. As it is said. Therefore, after becoming a preceptor, as his duty, it is extremely inappropriate to abandon the disciple without showing him what should be learned. If a certain monk says: Please ordain this person, and I will show him what should be learned, even if he does not show it himself, there is no fault.
