It is a place. It is not the food of the great assembly and the food of the ascetic practitioners of other paths. The basis for gathering and eating is a bhikkhu who possesses the six qualities and is at least four in number, and who is not sick, working, or on the road. The time is not a time of famine. In terms of thought, it is the certainty or doubt of eating in a place where the sangha, the basis of gathering and eating, is not eating together. The motivation is to want to gather and eat. The action is to start eating together with one's friends at the same time. The ultimate is swallowing into the throat. To generate the downfall of gathering and eating, it is not necessary to have a limb if any of the sangha, the basis of the place, eats in a fixed place in a gradual or sudden manner. Eating together, but being certain that it is not eating together or eating with doubt, and all the sangha eating in a gradual or sudden manner in the place of eating, those who dwell there should gather in the sangha, and those who eat without gathering are guilty of wrong deeds. Those who are about to go, those who come suddenly, the sick, those who care for the sick, and those other than the stewards, all those who sit in the row of monks, taking and eating from the common heap before starting to eat, and even if there is only one monk in the monastery, he eats from a place other than the designated place, and when inviting one person as a guest, those who take and eat without being told by the benefactor are guilty of offenses to be learned. Third, the downfall of eating at the wrong time has four parts, of which the root limb is that the object to be eaten is a food that is suitable and has the amount to be swallowed, and is suitable for the time. The second swallowing is not food that has been belched up. The time is from noon to dawn in the continent where one lives. The basis is not a sick person who benefits from afternoon food. In terms of thought, it is the certainty or doubt of eating at the wrong time. The motivation is to want to eat. The action is to start eating. The ultimate is swallowing into the throat. If one thinks it is the right time but is certain that it is not or eats with doubt, it is a wrong deed. Fourth, the downfall of transgressing the ritual, the second of which is the downfall of eating stored food, there are three offenses to be learned that depend on objects and parts. The first has four, of which the root limb is that the object to be eaten is the nature of any of the four medicines.
