or wanting to place it in danger of damage. Joining the meaning of what is thought and starting to act wrongly. Ultimately, it is gradually eroded by wind or rain, or damaged by hail, etc., or the place around it is more than forty-nine cubits (elbow length) from the doorway. If two people enjoy it together, the one who gets up later; if they get up at the same time, the one who is younger in precepts gets up; if getting up and being old or young are the same, then both will break the precepts, and entrusting the cleaning can avoid breaking the precepts, but it must be entrusted to someone other than those who have not received full ordination, the elderly, the sick, those who are estranged, and those who are not diligent in the precepts. Secondly, regarding the faults of what should be learned, there are five types of faults of what should be learned related to going out, related to laypeople, related to the sick, related to starting virtuous deeds, and related to monasteries. The first is that when going for alms without cleaning up the dwelling, if there is wind and rain, the people living in the monastery do not clean it up; if they leave without cleaning up the dwelling and remember it on the road, they should not say that they will not do this again in the future, and generate regret; at that time, if they meet a monk on the road, they do not entrust the cleaning; when leaving the dwelling, if they will not encounter danger, they do not hand it over to the owner; they leave without cleaning up; they do not dust off the dirty dwelling; if they do not have time to clean up themselves, they do not entrust it to monks, etc.; if there is no hiding place, they leave without hiding the key; if they see a monk coming on the road, they do not indicate the direction of hiding the key. The second is that for the house where monks are invited as guests, they do not give a borrowed cushion; when returning from the lay house, they do not mix with lay people and novices, etc., and leave respectfully themselves; if they are not there, or the lay people say they will see them off, they do not stay; if the lay people do not see them off, they do not accept the dwelling with words; if there is no dwelling, they themselves or he is unable to do anything, then the entire Sangha does not accept it either; in the monastery, when the benefactor borrows a cushion for his own purpose, they do not give it; they do not set up a guardian; even if they set it up, the guardian just sits aside and recites, etc., and does not look after the cushion; when lay people come, they do not clean up; lay people...

If the mat becomes unclean and is not cleaned, and if one sees a mat laid out by a householder that is not put away and does not put it away, and if the one seen is old and sick, one does not tell others. The third is that when a celibate is sick, one does not go to visit, and one goes there carrying a mat, and one does not sit and watch, and those who attend to the sick do not spread out mats, and so on. The fourth is that when the abbot or preceptor goes to perform actions during the day, one does not follow behind, and when one goes, one does not respect his mat, and one goes carrying a mat without asking the lama, and when listening to the Dharma without a covering, if wind and rain come, one does not gather up the dwelling, and at that time, the young people do not exchange heavy dwellings with the old people, and beds and the like are not placed harmoniously. The fifth is that when there is no fear of rain or the like, one does not lend mats to other monasteries, and if rain or the like occurs on the road, one does not wrap them properly and does not cover them with bad materials, and after going to the monastery, one does not dry the materials, and when disasters such as fire occur, one does not first take out one's own belongings, and then one does not take out the belongings of the Sangha, and in order to protect the belongings that have already been taken out, one does not allow monks to do work such as taking out belongings that they are not capable of, and taking out belongings from fires and the like that harm the body and life, and so on. Secondly, regarding the downfall of laying out mats, there are four categories of downfall, among which the basic branch, where the place of wrong action is the place of the Sangha, which is established as the characteristic of a place, capable of accommodating the four postures, and there is a danger of becoming harmful. The object with which one commits the wrong action is any kind of mat made of grass and leaves, which is the recognized measure in the world, and is used by oneself or by someone appointed. The support is like a dwelling. The intention is not to be mistaken in thought, and only the motivation of not wanting to accumulate. The action and the ultimate result are the same as before, except for the case where it has become harmful due to rain. The transgressions to be learned are that one does not discard mats made of grass and leaves and the like at home, and one discards them without asking, and in the monastery, one does not ask for or discard them by reversing the beginning and the end, and one does not discard the grass laid out for drying clothes, and one does not give to others who ask, and so on.
