A cloth that has not reached its maximum size is a small size. Among these cloths, if one obtains any size that covers three circles or more, and begs to supplement it to one cubit or more, it will result in a downfall. The way to fall by not giving the excess is: When a small cloth is begged from a householder and a large one is obtained, it is a downfall not to give the excess. If any small cloth is begged, even if more than that size is obtained, if it does not reach the large size, the excess must be given, because the excess was not obtained from the small cloth. Among the three sizes of renunciates, if the former size is begged and the latter is obtained, it is a downfall even if the excess is not given. If one begs for wool, etc., which is not suitable for renunciates because the basis is incomplete, one will commit a misdeed in both the preparatory action and the actual action. The third and fourth are the two downfalls of begging for scraps and begging for scraps separately. In these four cases, the element of the basis is that the object of begging must be a householder who possesses six qualities in common. In the case of begging for scraps separately, the male and female patrons each dedicate a piece of cloth, and in the case of begging for scraps, one piece of cloth is dedicated. The object of begging must be a necessary cloth, suitable and of sufficient size, owned by the patron himself, and dedicated to oneself. The support is that it is not laid on a hard support, and it is known that it is dedicated by the patron. The intention is that the thought is not confused, and the desire to beg is continuous. The preparatory action is to begin begging before the patron has offered it, with speech possessing five characteristics. The ultimate is the actual attainment. The fifth is the downfall of having someone weave cloth. In these four cases, the element of the basis is the weaver, who is not someone who demands weaving wages at will, but a householder who possesses six qualities in cooperation. The object to be woven is suitable and of sufficient size, is one's own, and no one else has previously begun weaving in order to harm the size. The intention is that the thought is not confused, and one wishes to have someone weave without giving a reward. The preparatory action is to begin having someone weave without giving a reward, either oneself or through a messenger, who is a householder who is not a relative, with speech possessing five names and five characteristics. The ultimate is that the cloth has been woven. The sixth is the downfall of causing weaving to be promoted. In these four cases, the element of the basis is that both the patron who promotes weaving and the weaver possess the first five qualities of a householder. The object is one's own.
