It is said that he possesses the power of wisdom to realize the emptiness of all phenomena by developing it. Therefore, distinguishing between the downfall and non-downfall of attachment and hatred, if it is done with love that never mixes with desire, then hatred and both are the same in terms of the presence or absence of sin. Those who have realization will not have such doubts, so there is no need to eliminate such doubts. If all the attachments in the continuum of a Bodhisattva are without sin, then it is too extreme. Therefore, as stated in the Compendium of Trainings, if it is related to the great benefit of sentient beings, etc., then through love for sentient beings, there are many instances where attachment is without sin. As for hatred, if one asks what is the sin of being angry in order to prevent harm? If the situation is distinguished, it will stir up its habitual tendencies, and therefore it will become the sin of the decline of compassion. It will be explained below that if it is cut off, it will become cutting off the root. Even if it ultimately benefits that sentient being, the Bodhisattva, because of the decline of compassion, will cause the continuum of great benefit for sentient beings to decline. As it is said, there is no situation of permission. Even when a Bodhisattva is made the object, a wealthy daughter died because of attachment to the Bodhisattva Delight-Maker and was reborn as a god. Hatred towards a Bodhisattva is: As the Buddha said, the number of evil thoughts generated will be the number of eons one will remain in hell. Therefore, it is different in every way. Therefore, one should understand the intention of the Bodhisattva grounds in the same way as understanding the intention of the Compendium of Trainings that attachment is not a downfall. Fifth, the distinction between the magnitude of downfalls is: The faults of a Bodhisattva should be understood as small, medium, and large, just as they arise from the Compendium of Subjects. As it is said, just as from the collection of the Vinaya Mother, the small, medium, and large of downfalls are shown in five ways, first, establishing small, etc. from their own nature is: Defeat is large, remainder is medium, and other than that is small. Another classification is that defeat and remainder are heavy, confession and repentance are medium, and misdeeds are light. In terms of action, doing something unknowingly and carelessly is small, doing something with many afflictions is medium, and doing something disrespectfully is large. In terms of intention, those done with the small, medium, and large of the three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion are small, medium, and large respectively.

is great. Fundamentally, because the thoughts are the same, on the same self-nature, there are also cases of becoming small, medium, and large. Because the afflictions of hatred are the same, if one kills sentient beings and non-parental people or parents who have become human, they will sequentially become a downfall and a defeat that is not an intermediate offense, and a defeat that is an intermediate offense. Etc., becoming small, etc., is from one to five downfalls, and not confessing according to the Dharma is small. From six to the point where one can count, not confessing according to the Dharma is medium. Countless downfalls, unable to count how many, are large. As said like this, here the essence and the basis are not combined as they are, but rather according to the situation, and the other three are the same. Among them, committing a downfall because of not knowing is because one has not heard or understood the downfall, and because the mind has not matured, one commits a downfall thinking that the downfall is not a downfall. Knowing also leads to committing a downfall, which is having a mature mind about the downfall, but because of forgetfulness and not being mindful, one commits a downfall because of not being mindful. Committing a downfall because of many afflictions is because the three poisons are prevalent, and although one knows that this is not something to do, it happens involuntarily. Committing a downfall because of disrespect is having a mature mind about the downfall, but liking the inferior, not having practiced the antidote before, not observing the principle of purification, being disrespectful to Nirvana and the Dharma and the Sangha, having no shame or embarrassment, not wanting to learn, and committing downfalls as one pleases because of disrespect. The first two of these are not afflictive, and the latter two are afflictive downfalls. Thus, it is from the Collection of the Mother of the Vinaya. For the antidote to these four causes of arising downfalls, one should rely on being proficient in downfalls and mindfulness and awareness, strive to antidote whichever affliction is prevalent, have shame and embarrassment, and respect the teacher and the precepts. Sixth, the cause of dwelling in bliss is that Bodhisattvas diligently study their own discipline, and because they possess the three perfections, they dwell in bliss. Among them, the perfection of application is that one initially does not separate from pure morality, and the actions of body, speech, and mind are pure and
