It is a collection of words such as "without." The teacher Bodhibhadra said that the scripture here says that the disturbance of mind and the threat of feeling are innocent, and he believes that this is summarized in two verses. The great teacher Śāntarakṣita believes that the "innocence" in the context of saying that the attachment to be mentioned below is a minor fault is summarized by this scripture, which is good. Second, the way to protect the mind from that is: The basis of the bodhisattvas' training, what has been said before, is entirely directly from the sutras, based on the three trainings, and the teacher scattered them in different sutras. These scattered parts, the noble Asaṅga, gathered into a whole and a continuous whole in the mother of the bodhisattva's collection. In this way, in order to study the place of study away from self-creation, the bodhisattva, with the reverence that arises, takes the vows properly from others with three complete intentions, and studies with utmost respect from the bottom of his heart, without violating what has been established. The three intentions are: the pure intention to want to study these, the intention to want enlightenment, and the intention to do the work of sentient beings. These three, the commentators explain as studying the three trainings, but first, the nature of learning is wanting to study the three trainings, and the latter two are for enlightenment and altruism, I think it is better to explain it this way. First of all, from the very beginning of taking the vows, one should generate great respect and not allow faults to arise. The eighteenth chapter of the Bodhisattvabhumi also says: "Among them, some bodhisattvas claim to be bodhisattvas, but they are not good at practicing the bodhisattva's trainings. These people should know that they are pretending bodhisattvas, not real bodhisattvas. Some bodhisattvas claim to be bodhisattvas, and they are good at practicing the bodhisattva's trainings. These people should know that they are real bodhisattvas." It is said that even if it is accomplished, it is good, and even if it is not accomplished, do not think that it is enough.

One should consult the instructions on illness, take the bodhisattva vows, and make the practice of the six perfections and the four ways of gathering disciples the most important thing with great enthusiasm. Having fully understood the profound and vast teachings of the Buddhas, one should follow the holy ones who have entered the great chariot path. One should not look to some practitioners who do not know all the key points of the teachings. Third, the method of repairing if the precepts are impaired: Although one strives to avoid transgressions, if one commits mistakes due to the four causes of falling, such as ignorance, carelessness, strong afflictions, and disrespect, one should still be restored to health from the offenses by restoring them according to the Dharma. All offenses that violate the bodhisattva's precepts other than the defeat are classified as misdeeds, and there are not many different categories of offenses like the Pratimoksha. If these offenses occur, one should confess to someone in the Hearer Vehicle or the Great Vehicle who is proficient and able to understand the linguistic expression and meaning of confession. Furthermore, a holder of the Pratimoksha vows who does not possess the bodhisattva vows must be a bhikshu or bhikshuni, because novices and others cannot be the object of confessing the grave offenses of the Pratimoksha. If the basis of confession is a renunciate, and the object of confession is a renunciate, does it mean that a bodhisattva householder is also not allowed? If a situation like a root downfall occurs due to great confusion, this treatise states that the vows should be taken again twice. Regarding gathering, it is also said that if one obtains a completely pure mind of renunciation, one should also renounce. Some Tibetans say that it can only be repeated twice, while others believe that the first time of taking the vows and the subsequent two times, a total of three times, can be given, and exceeding this number would become extremely shameless, so it is not given. I think that the meaning of "twice" in this treatise is like this, but this is unreasonable, because "twice" refers to the second time relative to the first time of taking the vows, and there is no statement that it is not allowed from then on, and such a limitation is not seen in reliable Indian treatises either. The commentary of Samudra says: Even if one commits hundreds of great offenses due to the influence of afflictions, one should confess to the Sangha and generate the mind of enlightenment with the intention of benefiting all beings, with pure intention.
