It is not entirely without fault. The new commentary says that this is in terms of discipline, being attached to gain and honor, not accepting them, and falling away from contentment and knowing enough. Third, there are two kinds of non-compliance with the giving of fearlessness. Related to the difference of the object is: not respecting the elderly. This means that a bodhisattva, who is older than oneself in terms of discipline, has the qualities of being trustworthy, and through these two aspects, speaks frankly, etc., for those who deserve respect, if one sees someone who holds the same precepts as oneself, if one does not stand up and does not offer a seat, one has committed an offense. Related to the general object is: not answering questions. This means that in order to make the other person happy, all words that are spoken frankly to oneself, asking about illness, etc., are pleasing, and if one does not answer other questions that are different from the former in a rational way, one has committed an offense. Some commentaries explain that the rational way means not desiring gain, etc., from answering, but the new commentary explains it as a compliant answer. For these two objects, if one does not do so, there is no fault, and from the point of view of the basis, there is no fault: when one's own illness is severe or one is asleep, even if others speak with a clear consciousness, etc., there is no fault even if one does not answer, these are two situations. From a temporary point of view, there is no downfall: when one is teaching the Dharma to others or engaging in Dharma conversation with others, and when one is making people other than these two objects happy, and when listening to others teaching the Dharma to oneself or listening attentively to others' conversations, these are three situations. From the point of view of need, there is no fault: if one stands up, etc., it will hinder others from listening to the Dharma, thereby making others unhappy, in order to protect this situation; and in order to protect the mind of the Dharma speaker because of the fear that he will be unhappy; and by means of not standing up, etc., to liberate them from non-virtue and place them in a virtuous place; and to protect the internal precepts of the Sangha, such as not prostrating and not speaking; and if one shows respect and speaks, etc., it will cause many people to have a universal feeling of annoyance towards oneself, in order to protect this situation, these are five situations. Other than these
