Then, for inferior supports, it would also become too excessive. Therefore, the term "morning" generally refers to the period from dawn to before lunch, so "at lunch" symbolizes the moment immediately after the occurrence of a transgression. In short, if one has not separated from the aspiration mind immediately after a root downfall, then by the power of that mind, even if a root downfall has occurred, that downfall will not be an obstacle to the re-emergence of vows, but if one has separated, since there is no force to prevent it, it cannot be restored. Therefore, if one abandons and separates from that mind before a root downfall has occurred, it cannot be remedied, so it is necessary not to separate from that mind until the moment that downfall occurs. Considering this, it is said that "if one has not separated" refers to not separating from and not abandoning the mind that was generated before, and not saying "if one did not generate that mind at that time." The Sutra of Skillful Means also says: "Son of good family, for this Bodhisattva who is skilled in means, if one in a hundred commits an offense due to the influence of evil friends, then he should be taught as follows. If I were to completely pass beyond sorrow with these aggregates, then my mind would also be filled with suffering, therefore, in order to fully ripen sentient beings, I should don such armor as abides in the cycle of existence at the edge of the future, and I should not cause suffering to my mind, and in whatever way I wander in the cycle of existence, I should fully ripen sentient beings. This transgression should also be restored according to the Dharma. One should think that one will not commit offenses later. Son of good family, if one fully examines, even if all four root downfalls of an ordained Bodhisattva have been destroyed, but if one eliminates them with skillful means like this, I say that a Bodhisattva will not fall into transgression." Therefore, the basis for transgression needs a Bodhisattva, and if a root downfall occurs on another basis first, and then one becomes a Bodhisattva later, it is not permissible to uphold individual liberation vows, because both sutras only speak of individual liberation vows in the continuum of a Bodhisattva. Being confused about this, saying that even if a defeat is committed in the individual liberation vows of the Great Vehicle tradition, one can obtain the vows as before by taking them again later, is to confuse the tenets of the Great Vehicle with the individual of the Great Vehicle.

This is a big mistake. Ananda asked, regarding the differences between the Pratimoksha of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles, the difference lies in following the minds of others, with or without protection, whether or not it can be corrected, long-term following, and the difference of ultimate destination. Three differences were mentioned. The final meaning is that the Pratimoksha of the Bodhisattva's continuum, even if death does not abandon it, is considered long-term following, which is unreasonable. The Sutra says: When the Bodhisattva's roots of virtue are mature, all afflictions are not exhausted in one lifetime, but are gradually exhausted. When the roots of virtue of the Hearers are mature, they act as if their heads are on fire, so they should not generate even a moment of existence. These two are the reasons for long-term following and ultimate destination. Because for existence, whether or not to deliberately grasp samsara is made a distinction. No more elaboration. Now let's get into the meaning of the main text. If it becomes a great entanglement, from a negative point of view, it means that there is no arising of shame and embarrassment, and not regarding it as a fault. From a positive point of view, it means that wanting to practice the future, and satisfaction and joy must be complete. Then, from where to where are the two that are not, and from where to where are the two that are? For this, the two that are not must be continuous from the arising of intention until the moment the main practice is completed. If during that period any of shame, embarrassment, or regarding it as a fault arises, then the limbs of the great entanglement will not be complete. Similarly, the two that exist must arise at any of those times, and until the moment the main practice is completed, they must not retreat from those thoughts. If it is uninterrupted like a kind, then it is too much. So, how can we know the difference between small, medium, and large entanglements? In this regard, neither "Ocean Cloud" nor "Virtue Light," nor "Samgraha Sutra" and "Commentary on the Twenty Verses on Discipline, Old Commentary," etc., have elaborated. Samudra said that there are three types of afflictions: tending towards afflictions, focusing on afflictions, and falling into afflictions. The first is just arising, and after arising, the mind focuses on it, and being controlled by afflictions. This is divided into three types of entanglements: small, medium, and large. This is the view of one's own school. And from Cloud of Merit, three poisons were mentioned: large, medium, and small. And two different views of combining were elaborated.
