To disparage inferior vehicles, although there is no root downfall, it is said to steal common accomplishments. Moreover, it is merely disparagement, and it is not right to abandon it by saying it is not the word of the Buddha. The seventh is the mountain, which is said to be for immature people who abide in the path of the Hearers, and it is a slander of those who do not believe in mantras. Proclaiming the secret is a downfall for teachers, etc., because of giving great bliss. As it is said, it is proclaiming the secret of the inseparability of bliss and emptiness. Darika says that if the secret is proclaimed, disbelief arises, and it is not for the purpose of taming, and the secret of great bliss is revealed. If these three dharmas are complete, it is a root downfall, and it is said that the downfall of revealing other than the secret of great bliss causes the worldly accomplishments to decline, but there is no clear statement of whether or not empowerment has been obtained. However, it seems necessary for those who have not obtained empowerment, as it is said in the Meaningful Retreat: 'It is ridiculous for a non-mantrika to say he has arrived.' As it is said, a non-mantrika is one who has not been matured by empowerment. 'To say he has arrived' means to explain the secret place without concealing it, which is a general statement. Therefore, the commentary says: 'The secret of great bliss' seems to be represented by the main door. The eighth is the naga, which is the downfall of afflicting the aggregates with defilements. It is also said to be about making arrangements, etc., during fasting, and cutting off the body, etc. It means to afflict or cause suffering to the body by arbitrarily cutting off hot and cold, cutting off food and drink, and cutting off limbs, etc. Darika says that if one commits suicide, it is a root downfall from the moment of generating bodhicitta, and knowing the aggregates, etc., between the Victorious Ones, the goddesses, and the mind, and knowing that they suffer and decline from bliss by tormenting them, and if the three are not for the purpose of taming others, it is said to be a root downfall. Some say that if a yogi who contemplates himself as a deity performs a fasting retreat that cuts off food and drink, he creates a root downfall, which is saying something without much consideration. Because in the Action Tantra, it is said that both contemplating oneself as a deity and performing a fasting retreat are done, and if the deity of Vajradhatu, etc., is fully practiced, even an acharya who can place a vase, etc., in the sky is said to do a fasting retreat. Vajra Arising says that the acharya first explains the merits of having done the retreat as before, on the day of entering the mandala.
