Although it seems difficult, except for the eleventh chapter, it is based on the explanations of Shantipa's commentary on the 'Black Enemy,' and also mostly quotes the explanations of the 'Black Commentary.' It also borrows some good parts from the commentaries of Jampal Drakpa, Ashvaghosa, Shantipa, Jowo (i.e., Atisha), and Nyingpo Zhap, as well as the commentary of Lakshminkara. Furthermore, it collects from other tantric scriptures and makes an explanation of the fourteen root downfalls. Second, to explain the gross transgressions, there are two: the meaning of the name and the meaning of the text. First, the so-called gross transgressions of the Vajrayana, the meaning of Vajrayana and transgressions have already been explained. 'Gross' is translated as 'great' in some translations, and in relation to the vows of the Vajrayana, it is the remaining fault that does not fall into the category of defeat. The second part is divided into three: the action of entering the explanation, placing the explanation itself nearby, and the action of completing the explanation. The first is: At the lotus feet of the guru, with all reverence, I prostrate. The eight types of gross transgressions, as spoken in the tantras, I shall write. It is said, and this should also be understood through the previous explanation. In general, there are infinite gross transgressions, but here, not all gross transgressions are shown, but rather the eight major paths of transgression that are recognized as being in the category of gross transgressions are collected and shown. In the second part, the first gross transgression out of the eight is explained, which is taking with the power of wisdom. That is, from below, these will be explained in conjunction with 'these eight are gross transgressions.' Wisdom is a woman. Taking is relying on a vidya. This is also with power, that is, relying on a vidya with one's own power alone, without the vidya having been fully trained. Fully trained means having been matured through empowerment and placed in vows and precepts, and having learned mantras and tantras well, as explained in the scriptures. The teacher Ashvaghosa said: 'Any yogi who, with a vidya who has no vows, also acts with force, and for those who ridicule him, it is said to be his first downfall.' In the explanation, for those who have no vows, have not matured through empowerment, or are young even if they have matured, or abide in asceticism, or cannot endure asceticism, etc., acting forcibly without possessing them, and on the limbs,

and so on, and making any laughter that makes him discouraged is a gross offense, and it is said that there are three gross offenses. In the Vajra Heart Ornament, it is said that serving a consort who does not have vows is a gross offense, and since one who does not have vows does not appear separately in the previous text, the meaning of power should be as before. In general, it should also be done according to the later explanation. The second gross offense is: He said, "Taking her nectar by force." This means that if one takes the nectar of the consort by force, it is a gross offense. On this, Ashvagosha said, "Not spoken of in the tantras, by the order itself, whoever enjoys the nectar." In the commentary, it is said that enjoying without divine pride, without blessing, in front of the unbelieving, and not at a special time will lead to downfall, because the order prohibited in the tantras is how it is enjoyed. The third gross offense is: He said, "Not concealing from non-vessels." Abhaya and Ratnakirti said, "Not concealing secrets," therefore, for non-vessels, that is, those who have not received empowerment, and those who have received empowerment but do not believe, not concealing secrets, that is, not hiding and showing paintings, scriptures, and the six ornaments, etc., and showing the binding of mudras, are gross offenses. In the third section of the ninth chapter of the Sambhuta Tantra, it is said, "Scriptures and paintings, if seen by those without fortune, will not be accomplished in this life, nor will they be a place of enjoyment in the next." The Explanatory Tantra Vajra Garland also emphasizes that showing paintings, etc., to non-vessels greatly delays accomplishment. Some Tibetan scholars say that the vajra and bell seem to be prevalent and cannot be practiced, so one should hold a vajra and bell that is not shown separately, which seems good. The first short section of that text says, "You should not show any mudra to anyone who does not know mudras." And its commentary also says, "Do not show even one." Not knowing mudras means those who have not received vows. In addition, the Kosala Ornament says that this is said to heretics and those who look like heretics but have not entered the mandala. Some branch offenses say: Not skilled in mudras
