As it is said, "One who possesses qualities is a disciple," it should be understood as such, and the disciple to be abandoned is: one who possesses faults such as being without compassion and being wrathful and violent, and those who are the opposite of the qualities mentioned here. One should also know the faults and qualities of a disciple, and one should strive to abandon faults and to possess those qualities oneself. Second, to explain in detail how to rely on a spiritual teacher, there are two parts: abandoning disrespect, and how to cultivate respect. The first has four parts: abandoning contempt and slander, abandoning causing displeasure to the teacher, explaining the unseen faults, and summarizing the meaning of these. The first has two parts: a general indication, and a specific explanation. The first is: Having thought of such a protector, if, having become a disciple, one despises, then, by despising all the Buddhas, one will always obtain suffering. This is what it shows. If one despises or slanders such a protector, the lama mentioned earlier, then one will always, that is, continuously, experience suffering. How does one obtain it through contempt? After thinking, that is, knowingly despising and slandering. By whom is the contempt done? By becoming his disciple, that is, after becoming a disciple, then he despises. The way of despising and slandering is as stated in the great commentary of the Glorious Supreme Tantra: "One should not slander the teacher who causes the yogi to enter the mandala, saying that you are immoral, have weak diligence, and are ignorant." As it is said, slandering and despising with words such as "immoral." The so-called teacher who causes one to enter the mandala refers to the fact that before explaining the tantra and oral instructions, one must be introduced into the mandala, so this is what it refers to, not just the teacher who gives empowerment. Therefore, it should be understood that the faults of contempt and slander are in general directed towards the Vajra Master. The place is also, if it is one's own Vajra Master, then one must abandon disrespect in any way, as Shantideva said in the commentary on the Four Hundred and Fifty Mandala Ritual Verses: "One should not slander, even if one sees the lama as immoral, etc., one should not be disrespectful." As it is said. "By despising all the Buddhas" refers to explaining the reason for constantly obtaining suffering through contempt, that is, the Vajra Master is very

If, as it is said, one makes offerings to all the Buddhas. Secondly, if someone asks, what kind of suffering does one obtain by reviling and insulting the Acharya? For the reviling of the Acharya, one will die from plagues and harmful diseases, as well as from demons, epidemics, and poisons, that extremely ignorant person will die. Kings, fire, venomous snakes, as well as water, dakinis, thieves, and also demons and evil teachers will kill him, and then he will go to hell. Thus it is said. In the 'Turning of the Wheel' it says: Plagues and near-harming diseases, as well as demons, epidemics, and poisons, that extremely ignorant person who reviles the feet of the lama will die. What appears is happiness, and that also has two kinds of faults: the faults of this life that are seen and the faults of future lives that are not seen. Firstly, it is shown by the first verse and from the king to the killing by evil teachers. Secondly, it is shown by going to hell. Among these, plague is an unbearable infectious disease different from epidemic. Near-harm is the harm of fierce creatures different from the harm of sentient beings below. Disease is a disease different from plague and epidemic, as it is said in the eighth chapter of the 'Tent': With the extreme combination of deceit and illusion, if one clarifies with inverted service, one will go to hell and other places after dying from hemoptysis, leprosy, and great diseases. Thus it is said. Demons are the demons of gods and nagas, etc. Epidemics are those that cannot be cured, such as one-day epidemics, etc. Poison is synthetic poison, etc., using those as causes of death, the great fool who is ignorant of the extremely outstanding faults, reviling the lama, that will die. Similarly, kings and venomous snakes, as well as flesh-eating dakinis and robbers, and fierce evil teachers will also kill, and die untimely in fire and water, and after death will also be born in hells. Those are said in the first part of the glorious first: The lama who is equal to all Buddhas, for the Acharya, if someone reviles, that person reviles all the Buddhas, will constantly obtain suffering, tormented by epidemics and poisons and synthetic poisons, as well as by dakinis, killed by demons and fierce evil teachers, will fall into hell.
