One falls into error. If, like falling into a deep sleep, one ceases without awareness, that is falling into the realm of nothingness. If clarity ceases in the face of knowing, that is falling into the realm of infinite consciousness. If there is only a radiance of bliss in the face of clarity, and nothing appears in the face of appearance, continuously arising, that is falling into the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. These are called falling into a one-sided quiescence. From here, after death, one revolves in the three realms and six classes of beings. Karma Vajra and Mati Bhadra Shri, if one does not know how to cut off the errors of meditation, then the reversal of the realm of foolish meditation is unnecessary. Furthermore, if one desires to see body and mind as separate entities, as ordinary people do, that is falling into the self-continuity of ordinary beings. If one clings to one side of existence or non-existence, that is falling into the eternalism and nihilism of the heretics. If one believes that there is an object separate from the mind, that is falling into the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. If one believes that appearances are mind, that is falling into Mind-Only. If one believes that the vessel and its contents are deities, that is falling into Mantra. What is the use of meditation that does not cut off the extremes of error? Then, when asked, "Please tell me a method for cutting off errors," the face of the Secret Lord said, "If you wish not to fall into error, like Mati Bhadra Shri, first expand your knowledge through hearing. Second, be guided by the instructions of recognition. Finally, at the time of practice, although the above-mentioned errors are attachment and clinging to meditation, like a rabbit sleeping in a thicket, or like the meditation of an archer, there is no error. Whatever arises in the experience of appearances, whatever arises, do not manipulate, expect, doubt, negate, or affirm, but release and let go. If there is no clinging to whatever arises, there is no falling into error." Second, the errors of place and companions are shown. The person who has meditation must meditate in a place that has the characteristics of being uninhabited. If one stays in a noisy monastery or a place full of afflictions, one will fall into error due to shadows, possessions, and the power of attachment and aversion. If one associates with bad friends, the progress of meditation will be interrupted, and one will buy one's own suffering. Karma Vajra and Mati Bhadra Shri, if one wants to be a true practitioner, one must resolutely abandon the bonds of bad places and bad companions, which is very profound. Third, the errors of meditation are shown. At the time of cultivating meditation, there are three: sinking, excitement, and scattering. Sinking has the sinking of place, the sinking of companions, the sinking of time, and the sinking of food.

Sinking, sinking by posture, sinking by meditation. First, sinking by place means: staying in low forest valleys, or dilapidated and dark rural monasteries, will dull wisdom, unclear bindu, dim awareness, drowsiness, and heavy body. For this, one should bathe and confess, go to a clean and high place, meditate in a bright place, blow the cool white cloud wind, visualize the top of a snow mountain, and meditate naked to eliminate it. Second, sinking by companions means: it happens when being with dark people. Confess and bathe, and guarding against associating with people who have broken vows and are dark will eliminate it. Third, sinking by time means: when drowsy and sinking in spring and summer, going to high places such as snow mountains and meditating will eliminate it. Fourth, sinking by food and clothing means: because people's food and clothing are dark, they sink, so when practicing, avoiding people's dark food and clothing will eliminate it. Fifth, sinking by posture. Beginners who walk, sit, lie down, etc., will sink, so when meditating, use three postures, or the vajra posture, concentrate wisdom, make the senses shine, and meditate in a relaxed state to eliminate it. Sixth, sinking by meditation means: when meditating, if meditating with low wisdom, one will become drowsy. This is sinking, so like adjusting the brightness of a lamp, raise the senses into the air, and stimulate awareness with clear awareness to eliminate it. Karma Vajra, the obstacle to meditation, cannot be eliminated by those who are not diligent. The fault of afflictions is: for practitioners, there are many enemies and thieves of afflictions, arising from the root of the five poisons, which will produce eighty-four thousand afflictions, so they will not let people stay in the place of meditation, but lead them into samsara. For these, one should not be distracted like losing the only path, abandon them like a poisonous snake appearing in one's bosom, grasp them with mindfulness, and when viewing, practice the guidance of the path in that way. If you don't do this, you will accumulate bad karma in an instant. If you want to avoid making such mistakes, you must not be separated from the spark of mindfulness and strive to accept and reject. In general, before gaining stability in view and practice, one should be alone like a wounded wild animal.
