From the two venerable ones, he received the teachings of mantra like an ocean, and the essence of blessings was not diminished. This precious lord completely mastered the teachings of the Vajrayana in his hands, and his intention is clear for the benefit and happiness of all beings in this region. This precious lord said, "The root of all mantra accomplishments mainly depends on pleasing the lama, so at all times of empowerment, the lama will happily grant permission." He said that there are many things to be studied about this. After that, the venerable Kyunpo Lhepa thoroughly decided on what he needed to hear, and then went to Parnam's Phagpa Ri (possibly referring to Phagpa Ri Mountain in Qushui County, Lhasa), invited Lama Dechenpa Chokyi Palwa, and appeared before him. Again, he listened to the "Vajra Heart Commentary," the "Upper Commentary of the Hand Vajra," the "Great Commentary of Naropa," and many other parts of the Kalachakra. For the two traditions of the glorious Guhyasamaja, he listened to the explanations and transmissions of all the rituals written by Buton Rinpoche, and many other Dharma teachings. After that, he went to Kongpa Dechen. This lord invited the yogi of the Shalu school, the great scholar and holder of the treasury, Gyaltsen Drakpa, to Phagpa Ri (possibly referring to Phagpa Ri Mountain in Qushui County, Lhasa), and corrected all the rituals such as the yoga dances and songs, and also listened to the corresponding teachings. In particular, he listened to the great commentary on the "Vajra Origin" written by the precious Buton, as well as the root tantra of yoga, namely the "Explanatory Tantra Vajra Peak," the "Glorious Supreme," the "Tantra of Purifying the Evil Destinies," etc., as well as the "Thatness Light," the "Ornament of Kosala," the "Great Commentary of the Glorious Supreme," etc., and also listened to countless transmissions of Indian texts such as tantras and commentaries. After that, it was the autumn Dharma assembly of Srelo. Together with Lama Umapa, both the master and disciple went to Gawa Dong (now Gadong Village, Lhasa) in U. They went to Lhasa to pray before the Jowo Rinpoche (Shakyamuni Buddha statue), and the master and disciple both entered retreat in Gawa Dong (now Gadong Village, Lhasa). To briefly mention the biography of this Lama Umapa: when he was first in Do Kham as a young boy herding livestock, due to the great power of accumulated karma from previous lives, he did not need to make efforts in this life.

From within his own belly, a strong sound of the Arapacana (Tibetan: ཨ་ར་པ་ཙ་ན།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ र प च न, Sanskrit Romanization: a ra pa ca na, Literal Chinese meaning: Immaculate Name) mantra arose, and the appearance of the body also occurred spontaneously to some extent. After that, having received the transmissions and subsequent permissions, he diligently engaged in recitation and practice, so there were many appearances of the body and speech of the yidam. However, he did not truly ascertain this. After that, he went to Samye in Ü-Tsang for studies. He examined the Prajnaparamita, so his Dharma language became very rich. When he intended to debate, the voice of the yidam said, 'Give away all your belongings to the sangha.' He replied, 'The equipment for studying will be gone.' The yidam said, 'There will be a treasure to extract.' There, after giving away all his belongings to the sangha, he said, 'Now, please extract the treasure.' The yidam advised, 'Now, make a firm decision to be a hermit and practice well.' After that, he began to practice as a hermit and went to the Kongpo region. He received the teachings of Kamtsang, the Great Seal, and so on. When he practiced, the appearances of the body and speech of the yidam became clearer and more stable than before. After that, at Samye, he listened to the Six Dharmas from the realized Tso Karmo. At that time, the emanations of the yidam were clear and stable, immeasurable. When he asked the realized one whether he should tell about it, the realized one said not to tell. After that, when he asked the lama Zhonnyalwa of Palri whether he should tell about it, the lama said that he could tell. He explained the signs of the four empowerments from the Lamdre, and the answers to the signs seemed to fit as explained in the tantras. After explaining the ways of answering the signs, the lama said, 'These of yours seem very pure.' The yidam said, 'For the one who shows the signs, it is enough to think of the mudras in his mind. The body's gestures are not necessary, because he himself does not understand.' After that, when he wanted to go to Tsang, the names of Barawa and Jak were very famous at that time, so when he asked whose presence he should go to, the yidam said, 'You go yourself, and in the pass of Bumpa-tso-dong you will meet a person. Do as that person says.' When he went, he met a monk in the pass. When he asked him, the monk said that Barawa had already left. There he went to Barawa's place and asked about the Great Seal and so on. He seemed to be a pessimistic person, so by his power, strong renunciation and pessimism arose. The degree of decreasing appearances was very serious, and he seemed to be concerned about that.
