Extensive offerings are made to the poor. At Riwoche Dechen (རི་བོ་བདེ་ཆེན་པ, meaning Great Bliss Mountain), the Medicine Buddha's day and night practice is offered and served with great pomp and circumstance. To approximately eight hundred fortunate individuals, zampa and money are distributed. At Palri (དཔལ་རི, meaning Auspicious Mountain), the mandala of the Düdeu (འདུས་མདོ) is opened for the assembled monks, and a week-long mandala sand offering is performed, during which excellent practical services are provided. On the days of the foundation laying and completion, the monastic community is lavishly entertained. The offering to each monk is one silver coin per person. Each young monk receives a tea snack. In addition, to accumulate merit, various items are prepared for the Düdeu (འདུས་མདོ) practice offering, including a large silver vase, a set of seven jeweled bowls worth fifteen silver srangs, a set of silver medicine alcohol kalis, a silver bowl, and a set of gyalings worth about twenty silver srangs. Every year, on the tenth day of the Monkey Month and the third day of the ninth month, one hundred sets of five offerings are arranged before the statue of Songtsen Gampo. For the Düdeu (འདུས་པ་མདོ) practice offering, two extra large teas and one zampa are provided, and fifty-four khals of cleaning expenses are paid. Approximately thirty Gelug (གློ་དཀར་བ) nuns gather to perform public rituals, and each is provided with a tea snack for the day and night practice. One flawless Nepalese silk is added as a public item. Two teas and one noodle soup are provided to approximately eighty Nyingma (རྙིང་མ་བ) families in Palri (དཔལ་རི), along with eight and a half skar of door money, and extra alms are given to the poor. For the impoverished small families, the continuation of the monastic practice offering service is also provided, namely a day's worth of tea and noodles, as well as general door money and tea snacks. Abundant tea, alcohol, and noodles are offered to all the residents of the Töndkhar (དོན་མཁར) area, including beggars. Two bushels of zampa and four sets of door money are provided to each person.
