In the awakened nature of mind, dwells a merchant who discerns good from evil. The wealth of abandoning evil and adopting good is diminishing. There, exists an extremely unbearable test. Enjoy the net of deception and trickery to your heart's content. At the edge of the suffering of samsara, dwells an official who does not listen to advice and clings to self-liberation. He is skilled at liberating beings with various vehicles. There, exists a meaningful leisure and endowment. Enjoy the boatman of desire to your heart's content. In the meadow of self-illuminating awareness, dwells a shepherd who lives by conceptual thoughts. There, are many naturally liberated, traceless mountain goats. There, exists a person with bodhichitta. Enjoy the shepherd who desires reward to your heart's content. In the pure chamber of the inner vajra body, dwell the deity assembly of the purified five aggregates. They possess naturally accomplished, perfect faces and gestures. There, exists a blessed deity. Enjoy the externally fabricated temple to your heart's content. These are metaphors for samsara. These are the meanings of nirvana. These are the key points of union. These are heartfelt suggestions. This song of the four ways of being, in the secluded practice place of Chimpu, in the powerful forest charnel ground, in the gathering place of dakinis, Metok Cave, there are no footsteps of sinful beings. Birds sing melodious songs. White mist is beautiful like a scarf. Cool spring water flows trickling down. Many bees fly and hover. This is a place where experiences arise effortlessly. In the beautiful room formed by natural rocks, the yogi of the vajra essence, illuminated by the light of the great power of wisdom and compassion, arose in the mind and was written down. There, met with the autumn frost. At night, hearing the terrifying sound of a wicked person called "Black Heart" climbing the vines of the sala tree and killing countless small birds. Intense compassion arose in my heart, and I could not bear the suffering. Pray, Ugyen Rinpoche, remember! What does it symbolize that there is not even a tip of a needle of happiness in the ocean of suffering of samsara? Even birds like this, who live on medicine and sprouts, face the fear and suffering of having their lives suddenly taken away. These birds have also been our parents countless times and have raised us with love. Now, my consciousness has fallen into confusion. If I abandon the idea that the bird king is real, then immediately...

Like the colored thread of the body falling apart, or wet leather being burned by fire, gathering together and unable to avoid making a buzzing sound. Samsara is like the whirlpool of ZU CHU, how can one be certain that after this life, one will not be reborn into a body like that of a domestic animal? "Domestic animals devour each other." Therefore, most of the dwelling and scattered domestic animals have suffering. If compared to the hell beings, this is only a small matter. Now there is no other way, if one ignores it, one will lose the commitment of Bodhicitta. Thinking that giving fearless refuge is also the teaching of the Bodhisattva vow, one endures the darkness and the cold touch, and many other sufferings, and drives them away with a slingshot, and after a few days, the situation will improve. In the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra, it is said: "Even if one only thinks of eliminating the headache of sentient beings, one has the benefit of eliminating suffering, and has immeasurable merit. Wanting to think of the immeasurable suffering of each sentient being, and that each sentient being has immeasurable merit, what need is there to say that one is able to accomplish it." Thus it is said. Now thinking carefully, not to mention the lower realms, even in the heavenly realms there is not even a needlepoint of happiness. In unexplored phenomena, those leaders who are proud of wealth and power seem happy, but they must face enemies they do not like, unable to fulfill wishes greater than themselves, fearing being surpassed when competing with equals, being slandered by those inferior to themselves, and so on, only suffering. These beings of the intermediate world, gambling, hatred, eighteen kinds of dissatisfaction, painful complaints hidden in their hearts, desires cannot be satisfied, people they do not like must be close, dull minds, etc., the time of happiness is not even as long as the morning. Poor people are in distress in terms of food and clothing, having no food during the day and no clothes at night, and on top of that, heavy taxes, they cannot bear it. Officials, if there is any delay in taxes, etc., they will be tortured and punished by laws like hell, there is no happiness at all. Thinking about what to do, reciting mani in immeasurable suffering, at that time, the thought of that place became an illusion, and one arrived at a vast plain called "The Great Sutra of the Basis of All Things," that

A great, unadorned, natural stupa appeared. Among the many people circumambulating the stupa, I saw a realized one and a monk engaging in heated Dharma discussions. The monk said, "You so-called realized ones are the most hypocritical. You deceive everyone, and they don't understand the true nature of reality. You don't understand the profound doctrines, and you indulge in alcohol and women. If Vajradhara heard what you were doing, what would he say? It's truly astonishing!" The realized one replied, "Please sit, please sit. The biography of Drukpa Kunley says, 'Who observes the Vinaya these days?' Compared to the Bhagavan and the two supreme Six Ornaments, other Vinaya is just ink and paper. You're so foolish! What's the difference between deceiving people with false Dharma and deceiving them with sorcery? Only a bad realized one would indulge in alcohol and women! Huh, huh, huh!" The monk became enraged and prepared to strike the realized one. Seeing that they were about to fight, I couldn't bear it and stepped between them, urging them not to do this. Then, another person circumambulating the stupa said, "These two are arrogant and never understand each other. They're always like this. You don't look like a monk or a realized one, but you seem to have a good heart. Why don't you act as a judge, based on the Buddha's teachings?" So I gathered my thoughts and respectfully said, "Alright, please listen. The prophecy in the 'Mind at Rest' states: 'The people of Tibet will abandon their vows. At that time, from Mount Kailash to Yarlha Shampo, there will be a million who appear as monks, and a hundred thousand who merely aspire to be monks, but fewer than five hundred will properly keep their vows. Those who appear as monks will have broken many vows. What use will the Sangha be at that time?' As the prophecy says, most monks these days are worse in their conduct than laypeople. They claim to be benefactors, enjoying the nine kinds of food and the nine kinds of possessions, yet they are not satisfied. Even if they give just a little, they greedily snatch it away like crows and hawks, annoying the laypeople."
