And also with flattering words, claiming to be benefactors, enjoying the food of nine offerings and the possessions of nine kinds, yet still not satisfied. Merely making offerings, they cunningly seize like sparrows and hawks, focusing solely on making householders disgusted. It is said that the Buddha was not at ease with this. In the Sutra Pitaka, it says: I have not allowed, do not allow, and will not allow the eating of meat. It is said in the scriptures that meat is not permissible for renunciates. It also says that from now on, my Shravaka disciples should not eat meat. Apart from that, I have not seen any statement about marking the heads of sheep in the slaughterhouse. Similarly, it is said in the scriptures: If someone drinks even a drop of alcohol, they are not my Shravaka disciple, and I am not their teacher. Although they abstain from alcohol, meat and alcohol are considered the essence of the stomach by those who claim to be monks, and with just that one thing, the vows are completely abandoned. Therefore, you monks, do not just avoid actually taking a wife out of fear of being expelled, and then arrogantly despise others with the conceit of pure vows. Please contemplate well on the Gawo Sutra and other scriptures. In the Sutra Requested by Excellent Intelligence, it also says: How should one keep vows and discipline? Manjushri said: A diligent monk who clings to various concepts such as keeping vows, breaking vows, and observing vows, will experience the happiness of the gods and then fall back into the lower realms. For those who have no arrogance about keeping or not keeping vows, and no conceptualization, that is the pure discipline that transcends suffering. Thus it is said in the sutra. Furthermore, some people rely solely on the reputation of realized beings and the posture of holding a meditation hat, indulging in the five poisons, and still say, "We are tantric practitioners," enjoying alcohol and other things without restraint, becoming mad. To call this reckless and shameless behavior by the fine name of "great yogi" seems to be a great harm to the Mahayana teachings. Claiming to have manifested the power of the generation stage and completion stage, able to transform poison into nectar, yet being overcome by alcohol...

It is said that only those like the powerful King Lotus Born Vajra (Padmasambhava) and the great accomplished Virupa, whose biographies and practices demonstrate the ability to overcome the effects of intoxication, are exceptions. It is not said that those who have not engaged in the practices of secret mantra consorts are allowed to drink. The tantra states: 'Whoever is intoxicated by alcohol will encounter many obstacles. A mantra practitioner who is intoxicated by alcohol will be driven to a place of suffering.' Thus it is said. Nowadays, those who claim to be lamas and accomplished ones, if they can handle being drunk, then fine; if not, it is forbidden.

Combining the punishment of (Buddha) with (disease), don't you understand now? Saying this, their privacy was touched too deeply. They left the ongoing fight where it was, wrapped their headscarves, and stood up and left in dismay. Another person said, "What's done is done, regret it later." (Some say) Showing through teachings and biographies, those people write back and forth, writing only about what has already happened, what's the use of that? You haven't even seen a decent practitioner in your own hometown, but you have a great reputation in unfamiliar areas, just wondering, what's so good about this? Now, even if there is no place to live, but there must be experience when sick, those who do not understand seem to understand. Now, please tell me in concise and clear language what the core of your sect and views are. Because the minds of sentient beings are as changeable as animals, and there are many kinds of sects, taming sentient beings is the characteristic of Vajradhara. Instead of cultivating pure perception of everything, it is better to hold the words of sutras, tantras, and profound oral instructions in your mouth, abandon the profound meaning like an enemy, and then say, "My religion is more profound and powerful than any religion, no one is more learned, more disciplined, and more accomplished than me." Don't show me this sect that divides people into factions and clans. Everyone thinks that their own theories and oral instructions are the best. We Vajrayana people must also follow the writings of the Omniscient One and the footsteps of the Six Ornaments and Two Supreme Ones. What else needs to be purified besides that? Although there are people in any group who cannot bear the consequences, in actions related to time, there is no contradiction between cause and effect. From the vehicle of cause, all that is said about relying on the antidote to afflictions and desires to eliminate, and from the vehicle of result, all that is said about what should be accepted, are superior because of the path and method of Vajrayana and the inconceivable wisdom, and because it is shown to disciples with sharp faculties, transforming the essence of what should be eliminated into the path, ultimately both are equally of the nature of what should be eliminated, this must be understood. For example, what is the difference between a peacock eating poison and someone else eating poison? What I have done with the wisdom of pure perception, and what is held by skillful means, is its essence.
