Look! Therefore, the self-nature of suffering will surely be destroyed. If suffering is examined with contemplation, the self-nature of samsara is suffering. In the past, during times of perfect happiness and joy, an innocent king was tormented by punishment. Thoughts arise like lightning, unpredictable. This is known as the great suffering of change. Always clinging to the gains and fame of this life, zealous in conquering enemies, protecting relatives, and so on, the body and mind find no moment of peace. All seemingly fleeting pleasures, the pervasive suffering of conditioning is not apparent. Now, my beloved son, due to the great power of the truth of past karma, suddenly abandoned his life, the heart is bound by unbearable pain. Day and night, ceaselessly tormented. This is known as the suffering of suffering. Therefore, these three sufferings, are present on the necks of all sentient beings. This does not only happen to others, nor will it only happen to oneself. In the past, the queen of the Dharma King, Dromza ('Brom bza'), had only one son, named Padma Sal (Padma gsal). Unable to bear his father's affection, involuntarily departed from this world. His father, Orgyen Chöje (O-rgyan chos rje), through compassion, when summoning the consciousness back to the corpse, although the eyes could see and he could speak, because his lifespan was exhausted, there was no possibility of extending it, he could not even stay for a day. At that time, due to the blessing of being embraced, in many pure and impure rebirths, after the exhaustion of the fruits of past aspirations, the activity of the Vidyadhara was completed. Around the age of seventeen, the Heart Essence (snying thig) was extracted. Just as it was about to be propagated to all fortunate ones, suddenly, due to the power of the demon's illusion, in Nyal Gyadro (gNyal gya 'gro), at Yitzemo (yi rtse mo), a rain of various weapons fell, and he was killed. Also, Marpa of Lhodrak (lHo brag Mar pa) cherished, like a piece of flesh cut from his own body, his beloved son, named Darma Dode (Dar ma mdo sde), was killed by a violent horse knife, his head scattered on the ground, and he passed away. Also, the venerable Rinchen Tsangyang Gyatso (Rin chen tshangs dbyangs rgya mtsho), the wish-fulfilling jewel for the happiness of Tibet, an embodiment that people never tired of seeing, wandered to the ends of the earth, like an orphan. Therefore, karma and its results, even Bodhisattvas and Aryas cannot avoid. Just as the stump of a mulberry tree pierced the feet of the Protector Shakyamuni Buddha, karma is something that no one can change, please accept this fact!

Please do not worry. Mila of Tibet, the land of snow, And the Dagpo Kagyu lineage, Longchenpa and Zurpa, father and son, etc., Most of the accomplished ones of the old and new, Met the Dharma through adverse conditions, Attained accomplishment through suffering. The attendants with three rounds of tiger skin ornaments, And those adorned with turquoise necklaces, These who are arrogant with power and wealth, Seem to be deceiving the eternal aspiration. Most people are no different from animals, Here, they take dream-like aspirations, As eternal ornaments and live by deception. Regarding the faults of eternal aspirations, There is not even a hint of doubt. When will I see the ocean-like scriptures of the Victorious Ones, Constantly generate the supreme Bodhicitta. Through the power of realizing the self-born nature, Those who know the key points of samsara and nirvana, Are just slightly sensible among animals. Joy and sorrow are like last night's dream, Though true last night, it has vanished today. Considering these, please do not worry. The Three Jewels are placed on the crown of my head, The sacred Dharma is engraved in my heart. Now is the degenerate age of evil, No matter who I look at, I am discouraged, No matter what I observe, there is no essence. For the yogis who wander in the mountains, Although the inclinations of beings are different, I offer prayers without bias. May the retinue and disciples gathered by karma, And all the patrons who devote their hearts, Turn their minds to the sacred Dharma, May their ultimate aspirations be fulfilled in this life. The section related to diligent practice, which is the second chapter. Now, let us speak about the wheel of activity and action. Blank page. The biography of Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje Khyentse Özer, the section related to diligent practice, which is the second chapter.
