I am from a wealthy family. I do not know where I reside. Although I know the words of debate, I am not merely arrogant and self-important. These are words of realization that have entered the mindstream. New scholars should respond. Thus, I speak to myself. Those who are ignorant but conceited, stubbornly clinging to their views. Without realization, they hold conceptualized views and meditation as supreme. To the splendor of phenomenal existence, I send such letters as a form of play. At that time, when the practice of Vajrakilaya, with a hundred million recitations in silence, was being performed, and the gathering of Padma Dhama was extremely tumultuous. This is called the essential instruction of taking sickness as the path, the self-liberation of the three kayas. Homage to the wisdom of the sage Rigpai Yeshe. The root of the twelve links of interdependence is ignorance. Its arising in accordance with that is the cause of disease. I prostrate to Orgyen, the Medicine Buddha, please pacify the sickness of the three poisons. Sickness is the broom that sweeps away sins and obscurations. Meditate on sickness as the guru and pray. Sickness is the ripening of negative actions. No one can experience the ripening of karma for another; it falls upon oneself. If you have taken the portion of karma that has fallen upon you, be content. It is due to the kindness of the lama and the Three Jewels. Sickness is a means to attain accomplishment, so pray to the deities. Sickness is a sign that negative karma is being exhausted. If you do not look at the nature of sickness, look at the mind. Do not place sickness on the mind. On top of sickness, rest naked awareness. Sickness is the instruction for appearing as the Dharmakaya. The body is like a corpse, the mind is emptiness. What can harm a corpse? What can establish in emptiness? In the nature of sickness, seek the three places of origin, dwelling, and going. Sickness is a sudden arising of conceptual thought. When conceptual thought vanishes, sickness dissolves on its own. Awareness is liberated into the vast, clear emptiness beyond thought. Sickness is the instruction for appearing as the Sambhogakaya. The sins and obscurations accumulated over eons are purified by sickness. It is the messenger that summons realization and accomplishment. Abandon attachment to the body and cut the path to samsara. With clear visualization, give away flesh and blood. Sometimes, meditate on the empty body like a honeycomb. Like sesame pods, let the wind blow through. Rest the subsequent wisdom in the emptiness of the expanse of awareness. Sickness is the instruction for appearing as the Nirmanakaya. This sickness is the power of the compassion of the Three Roots. This sickness is the kindness of the Three Jewels. This sickness is the power of accomplishing the purification of sins. There is no firewood for practice greater than this.

Do not perform rituals like those for famine, but cultivate joy, for it is a sign of the exhaustion of bad karma. Closely guard the three doors of the three solitudes, and through the practice that pleases the three, may you fulfill the commitments of the three roots. When the confluence of the three kayas' expanse and awareness arises, may you teach from the bed of solitude with the light of wisdom and compassion. May you be liberated from the three poisons through virtue! At that time, a master named Gomchen Shri Natha arrived in that area, approaching with the ignorant attachment of kinship. Having only heard of him before and never having met him, he spoke whatever came to mind: "You, how many lifetimes has your awareness existed? Which lama have you relied upon? If you are a beginner, you can enter the gate of Dharma at Mindrolling Monastery. If you also study the Guhyagarbha Tantra, you might succeed." He spoke many words that overwhelmed other appearances. Thereupon, I responded with pure perception, also receiving Dharma connections such as the Shri Guhyagarbha Tantra and the Seventeen Tantras. Because of the saying, "Do not teach the Dharma to those with 'do ker'," I also skillfully posed questions. Because it appeared as sincere speech, I replied thus for the sake of examination: "That is very true. Generally, regarding the view of mixing samsara and nirvana into equality, in experience, represented by disheveled hair, wearing the attire of Heruka, these people are lamas who trade in secret mantra, a disgrace to vidyadharas and dakinis, an example for wandering beggars. I had the good fortune to meet the Indian master Manjushrimitra and the luminous one in a state of clear light, and from then on, I wear a protective amulet and scriptures on my head, bound with silk, which is a victory in appearance. Whether one is regarded as a fraud or an accomplished one is acceptable. In particular, when listening to the Dharma of secret mantra, allowing for broad-mindedness, there is also a custom of applying pure perception, regarding the master as the chief of the mandala and the disciples as manifestations of the retinue. So, please do not be offended this time." Having said this, his attachment lessened slightly. At that time, I playfully wrote this letter and offered it: Emaho! The lineage is that of the Dharma King Drukpa, the clan belongs to the Nub family. Although not ruling Ngari (Western Tibet), it is passed down through generations.
