Whether gaining or not gaining knowledge, happiness or unhappiness, pleasant or unpleasant sounds, praise or blame, these eight worldly dharmas, please let me not keep them in mind, but treat them equally. As it is said, the virtuous deeds accomplished by the eight worldly dharmas are not good. Generally, the root of most virtuous deeds practiced by kings and officials in the world in their respective territories is to levy taxes from the people and force labor, thinking that this is the only pure act. To this, the scholar Hero says: The donor is powerful, Vishnu is the beggar, at the time of the horse sacrifice, the great earth is given away, one who is bound by the fruit will surely obtain it, who would desire such a reversed cause and effect? As it is said, no matter in which direction, the virtuous deeds that seem to bring fame to oneself, in reality, impose the suffering of torment on others by reducing their enjoyment, beating, robbing, and binding them. The artisans also perform labor while groaning and complaining. Such actions will not become the cause and effect that pleases the Buddhas. Therefore, in the measure of standards, it says: From all aspects, have extremely pure intentions, possess the garments of shame and embarrassment, with faith and generous offerings, worship the gods and artisans without discrimination. As it is said, those who possess the knowledge of craftsmanship should be regarded as objects of respect, and they should be offered food and drink so that they are free from poverty and complaint. In particular, grand banquets should be held at the beginning, middle, and end, almsgiving after the banquet, and watching performances at specific times and places that are independent of this, as well as close contact, etc., in various ways to relieve their worries. Like this, not binding the people, for those who are greedy for sensual pleasures, eating and drinking, especially indulging in alcoholic beverages, is their only spiritual sustenance. Accompanied by play, laughter, and young songs and dances, they are immersed in the joy as if they have attained the status of the immortal king, and they immediately become old friends of the gods of the fourth dhyana. Therefore, for those who have become frivolous, the place to be enjoyed is called the nine male skills.

Pressing down on meat with strength, crossing a great river by swimming, and competing with birds in skill – these are the three physical skills. Producing virtue through history, generating laughter through conversation, and overwhelming opponents through debate – these are the three verbal skills. Being intelligent and quick-witted, brave and persevering, articulate and unfathomable – these are the three mental skills. Similarly, the so-called nine skills of a man are: three of speech, writing, and arithmetic; three of archery, stone-throwing, and jumping; and three of running, swimming, and strength. In whatever area one is skilled, one should allow the vine of pride to grow, and then at the victory celebration, silk made by the fingertips of ethereal singers, and also various forms of Rekha (Sanskrit, Rekhā, Romanized Sanskrit, line) were bestowed. For such a matter, diligently undertaking responsibility, until the work is not completed, continuously making offerings and sacrifices to the Vajrayana protectors, and pleasing them with clouds of offerings, through the grace of the supreme Three Jewels and the compassionate eyes of the ocean of victorious ones, and the power and inconceivable magical abilities of the master of others' emanations, naturally comprehending it in one's heart. Not delighting in one's own doctrine, lacking interest in the desirable qualities that are constantly used, and a displeasing loud sound occurring in one's own abode, one thinks: Alas, in this final moment for me, the sharp thorns of unprecedented roughness pierce my heart, giving endless pain, whose power is this? In this realm of desire, there is no one worthy to be my match, now I am hated for no reason, and who is this virtuous one riding the chariot of great joy, eager to destroy our abode as well, who exists on the earth? Thus, with a restless heart, one looks in all directions. There, one knows that this arises from the power of the pure and immaculate superior intention of the yogi Jigme Lingpa (འཇིཊ་མེད་གླིང་པ།), although one is intent on initiating an act of opposition, due to being unable to seize the blessings of the Three Jewels and the deities, and the great power of aspiration, one's strength becomes weakened, and so one thinks again:
