Then again, blessings were received. Successively, mastery was gained over the eighteen great treasures represented by Lama, Dzogchen, and Thug (Mind). These were extracted with great miraculous signs in front of fortunate individuals. For the most part, vows were declared to the treasure lords. Others with karma and fortune were made to obey orders, and the treasures were extracted without dispute. When the father found out, he said, "You say you've extracted treasures, what exactly did you extract? Bring it here." When a copper box was handed over, he said, "Read the catalog." After it was read, he said, "Read the 'Buddha Samyoga Tantra One Knowing All Liberation Path'." Starting from the beginning of the tantra, he read it. Then the father said, "Enough, enough, that's enough. I had given you some advice before. Even if you add more disputes later, it will only be empty words. Now, whatever rise and fall, success or failure this treasure brings, bear it. The command of the all-knowing of the three times, the great Ugyen (Padmasambhava), is indisputable. Although it is profound, you don't need to have any expectations for your Dharma. For forty years, my wish has been to take the thoughts of all the Lamas and scholars of the four regions of U-Tsang (Central Tibet), I have cut off elaborations. I have repeatedly contemplated on the basis of samsara and nirvana, the one nature of mind. Now, if you go to listen to my words, then accomplish something in Lama, Dzogchen, and Thug. Otherwise, those evil mantras, catapults, boulders, hailstorms, and illusions, and all kinds of crooked tricks, don't even mention them until you have mastered this Dharma. Learning a lot but achieving nothing will eventually lead to becoming a beggar. In general, how could I be displeased with treasure Dharma? The Buddha's sutras and tantras all speak of treasure prophecies. This is the practice of the past vidyadharas. In the past, some narrow-minded treasure revealers, without truly mastering the Dharma, rushed to achieve results, and did not accomplish great deeds. The people of Gya-zhang Trom (place name) first spread evil mantras, causing the decline of activities. The doctor of Kutsa (place name) first practiced medicine, causing the Dharma activities to be disturbed. The treasure revealer Ra-shag (person's name) first performed Torma rituals, and later became a Torma maker. The Bonpo Draktsal (person's name) first practiced Pehar, and only became a sorcerer. There is no end to such examples. Although the past Victorious Ones aimed at benefiting others, the treasure revealers did not straighten the fundamental principles of Dharma, but put activities first, resulting in failure. If you practice Dharma, the Dharma protectors will naturally come along. Supernatural powers will also come without being cultivated. That's all.
