He relied on many scholars residing in India, Nepal, and the land of Brusha. In India, he learned some sutras and treatises from Khenpo Chögyal Kyong, and especially from Khenpo Che Tsenkye of Brusha, he mastered the complete 'Compilation of Intentions Sutra'. At Samye, he joined the ranks of the great translators and also translated the sacred Dharma. Relying solely on seclusion, he contemplated that, in general, at this time, the royal law was decaying and sectarian strife was flourishing, causing great hardship to Nubchen and his sons. In particular, in his previous life in India, he was born as a person named Shanpa Marutse, and by benefiting sentient beings, he completely exhausted all remaining lands to be tamed through wrathful means. And in Tibet, represented by the destruction of the nephew's doctrine, many harm-doers of the doctrine arose before and after, so in order to destroy them with fierce mantras and protect the doctrine, he was inspired by the activity of the Victorious Ones. Various circumstances, the arrogance and rebellion of the local people, occurred three times, killing two sons of the lineage. As it is said: 'Afflictions arose in central Tibet, the people plundered the food for survival.' And, 'Even a small Nub monk like me, from the depths of my heart, arose the thought of acting according to the Dharma. Hatred will not give the enemy an opportunity, in order to protect the Buddha's doctrine, immediately generate hatred. In order to manifest the greatness of the white Dharma, I learned various kinds of evil mantra texts.' Thus, from the lands of India and Nepal, he invited the fierce mantras of the ocean of executioner retinues. Eleven lamas lifted their feet, but he consulted four wise men. The teacher Glorious Lion, the Indian Blood-Drinking Black One, the Destroyer Shantigarbha, and the Nepalese Vasudhara, four in all. He penetrated the minds of the four wise men and inscribed the profound instructions on his heart. As it is said. These were also summarized from the Nepalese teacher himself, as it is said: 'The teacher, the king of Nepal, in the cave of Yangleshöd, said, "Nub's small monk, come here." After empowering with the great corpse, he entrusted Manjushri, the Lord of Life, as the deity.' This is representative. Thus, this teacher once went to India and accumulated merit at Vajrasana, and from the expanse of the sky, a golden nine-pointed vajra...

Appearing at a distance of one cubit from himself, he failed to grasp it twice. On the third occasion, it happened to fall between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand. Instantly, he transformed into the actual form of Vajrapani. He was empowered and blessed. He was bestowed with the name "Sangye Yeshe." As a symbol of empowerment, he held the nine-pronged vajra inseparable, which is now said to be at the heart of Rongchen Great Compassionate One. At the border of India and Nepal, in the rock cave of the Five-Peaked Vajra, he also received teachings from Master Padmasambhava, and thus comprehended many tantras and oral instructions. He practiced in charnel grounds, on islands, and in places where fierce non-humans roamed. He had visions of countless tutelary deities, such as Manjushri Yamantaka. He conversed and made offerings to nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, and fierce pretas. Because his power was extremely great, all the gods and demons offered him service. In the black Phulong charnel ground, Ekajati (藏文:ཨེ་ཀ་ཛ་ཊི) showed her face. She gave the skull of a Brahmin woman as an object of accomplishment. Padma Garkyi Wangchuk also gave the skull of Monnakakha as an object of oath. He flawlessly accomplished clairvoyance and miraculous powers. In the central Tibetan region of Ü-Tsang, he made the Yangdzong of Drak (present-day Qushui County, Lhasa) the center of his practice. Similarly, in the stone vajra box of Nyuk, he secured the essential point of mind for nine months. He trampled with his feet on places like Pungpo Riwoché (present-day Namling County, Shigatse) in Tsang and Yung's Dza Lhungmo. At the age of sixty-one, a rebellion broke out in Drak, and he destroyed many cities with the sharp fierce mantra of the executioner of Yama. As it is said: Like me, Sangye Yeshe, I built the practice chamber in the castle of Yama. On the black peak of Drak, I turned the wheel of the near-resolving wind. I destroyed thirty-seven cities of Drak. So it goes. Later, he fled to the village of Nub. There, too, he was not allowed to stay, so he seized Nyemo Byekhar (present-day Nyemo County, Shigatse). There, too, he was surrounded by an army and faced the danger of losing his life. From the top of the castle, he invoked the gods and demons as witnesses. He tested the truth with verses. He shook his Dharma robes, and the oath-bound protectors visibly appeared. "With our power, we can turn Mount Meru to ashes, we can strike the sun and moon, we can turn heaven and earth upside down, but because the karmic debts of previous lives have erupted, the previous help..."
