Because Zur Chungpa was very poor, he picked up the tormas that the lama had given away and ate them, making zan-chang (barley flour beer). The other monks said, 'He smells sour and stinky from the beer. He doesn't offer the beer to the lama, nor does he give it to his fellow monks.' The lama said, 'Today, let Zur Chungpa go chop wood.' Later, when Zur Chungpa's hut was searched, it was said that under a corpse, there was nothing but a kapala bowl full of zan-chang. There, the lama said, 'When Zur Chungpa runs out of livelihood, come to me.' I could hardly say 'a little bit' about the lama's property, and could only endure hard work. One day, the lama took a wooden bowl that could hold nine 'phul' and asked, 'Can you drink?' He asked for zan-chang, and the lama filled the bowl and gave it to him to drink. He said, 'Bring more.' And he drank again. The lama asked, 'Is there any more?' He said, 'There is about one 'bre'.' The lama said, 'Now there is none left. If there wasn't, you would have as much merit as Tibet. However, through the auspicious connection of offering, you will gain great merit.' Then he gave him three 'khal' of things, saying, 'Don't take anything else until these are used up.' When Zur Chungpa heard this, he exerted himself day and night, without rest, in whatever place there was hearing, contemplation, and meditation. Because he was an emanation body, the treasury of wisdom burst forth, and inconceivable realizations arose, but he didn't even have the tools to borrow books. Lhaje Zurpoche, in a place called 'Pen's Blue House,' had two wealthy female practitioners, a mother and daughter, named Jomo Yumo. The lama said, 'You stay here.' He said, 'I don't do worldly affairs.' The lama said, 'Don't underestimate your motivation. I know the boundaries of what the Buddha allowed and forbade. Using their two's property, receive empowerments, copy scriptures, and listen to all the Dharma without omission, that's enough. In this way, both of them can complete their accumulations, and your affairs can also be accomplished, isn't that good?' He listened to the lama's words, and all his wishes were fulfilled. The lama also said, 'Now don't stay there, gradually move the books and other offering items to my place.' He did as he was told, and the lama asked, 'Is everything alright?' The two of them also expressed their gratitude. The lama said, 'Don't be discouraged. You will surely be able to benefit beings in the future. In this degenerate age, you must propagate the Buddha's teachings and benefit countless beings.' The kindness of the two of them...

The answer was the same. He said that if you hide this, neither your own benefit nor the benefit of others will be achieved. There, he listened as he was told, and understood the Lama's intention as it was. Once, he saw Zur Chungpa circumambulating a stupa near the gate where Lhaje was staying. His feet did not touch the ground, and he was about an arrow's length above the ground. The Lama thought that this might be an incarnation, and he was very surprised and happy. Similarly, when Zur Chungpa was coming and going in another direction, in the empty sandy land, he was very distressed by the heat, and someone brought him a drink, and when he went to meditate on the top of an empty mountain and felt hungry, someone brought him food, etc. Whatever he wanted was achieved effortlessly. Now he thought, even if I do things for the benefit of beings, it will be successful. The Lama also said, "Now you should teach." There he taught the Sutra Compendium, and at one time three hundred versions of the book were published. At that time, the Lama greatly praised Zur Chungpa, and (someone) said that the Lama praised the position of the official, showing a slightly disrespectful attitude. He knew that slandering the Lama was a very great sin. Once, when all the teachers and students went to turn the wheel of Dharma in a place called E Mar Dorje Po, there was a dead female dog rotting in an alley, full of worms. The Lama Zurchhen touched (the corpse) slightly. Zur Chungpa killed the corpse of the female dog and ate the worms in his mouth. The others said, "Such a madman called Zur Chungpa has been appointed as a teacher, and our patrons will also lose faith." The Lama said, "I also know that these dogs will fall into the lower realms, but I do not have the ability to save them. He saved them, which is very amazing." There, Zur Chungpa glanced at them, and the corpses of the dogs all turned into offering goddesses. He vomited out the worms, and the worms buzzed in the sky. There, Zurchhen said, "Are you surprised now?" (People) said, "This is magic." There, the Shangchu River flooded, and Zurchhen used his miraculous powers to throw the kapala to the other side of the river, saying, "Whoever can get this will be my lecturer." The other three top people could not get it, and Zur Chungpa went and got it without his feet touching the water. Also the wind of
