This is a sign that I have reached the end (death). His entourage requested him to perform a virtuous deed, but he did not focus on contrived virtuous deeds. They also requested him to perform an essence extraction, but he said, "If I perform an essence extraction, I can extend my life by about ten years, but there is no need for a long life in this degenerate age." He properly exhorted others and then passed away. After cremating the body, the sky was filled with light. Many stupas and relics also appeared. This shows that although his gross body did not transform into a rainbow body because of managing the sangha, he perfected all the signs of passing into nirvana in the ultimate primordial purity (ཀ་དག་,梵文:ka dag,梵文罗马拟音:kadag, literal meaning: primordial purity) ground, and the flourishing of the oral transmission Vajra Bridge also became greater from this time onwards. His actual disciples were: Master Kunsang, Dzeng José, Tsangtangpa Nyang Dharma Siddhi, Master Serlungpa, Lama Ngu Dorje Gyaltsen, Zik Yeshe Wangpo, Yakton Dawa Özer, and many others. He passed away at the age of one hundred and seventeen. He and Jowo (Lord Atisha), Gyawa Chökyi Senge, and Jetsun Milarepa and his disciples were almost contemporaries. Dzeng José was born into a family of mantra practitioners, and from a young age, he studied reading, writing, and arithmetic. He learned illusion and other Nyingma teachings, as well as Hevajra and the Praise of Names, from the painter of Olkha. There, the painter master said, "Alas! I have learned so many great scriptures, but at the time of death, only the Aro seven branches are useful. You should not study scriptures, but focus on the oral instructions. In Dags po (Dakpo), there is a lama named Dzeng, you should go to him." He prophesied in this way. In Gangpar, he stayed with the abbot and teacher of Dzogchen Lhundrup, Sonam Gyaltsen, for six summers and winters, but he did not take it to heart. Because the elaboration of the oral instructions did not cease, he requested the Vajra Bridge three times from Master Dzeng in Dalung. After the master blessed him, he said, "You should go to Tsang for a while to study the scriptures. When you return from Tsang, Ami will also build a monastery for you." He thought that the oral instructions should not be given there, so he asked, "Who else knows?" They said, "Geshe José Shangla Kyap knows." When he wanted to request it, that person passed away. He returned to Dakpo and requested it from Dzeng, but Dzeng did not give it either. He thought of requesting it from a disciple, so he went to Shokyam, to the presence of Master Ngu.

Since you've gone, merely relying on hope won't do; you must go to Dagpo and request instructions," (the master) said. Again, he went to Dagpo and requested instructions. (Dagpo) said, "If you desire it no matter what, you must be diligent with the instructions," and then gave them completely. He stayed near the master for several summers and winters. After about six years, even the subtle points were completed. He also practiced the work of bestowing blessings on others. About fifty disciples of Topa, such as Rokpo Ga and Majo Drowa, requested the Vajra Bridge, and José said, "Listen, all of you," and the master spoke from the throne. The master and disciple stayed together for about eighteen years. He received the oral transmission of the instructions and was appointed as the lineage holder. Thus, the master of both Dzeng Dharma Bodhi and José Dzengchung, the Madman, was Künzang, who was the disciple of Gomchen Zangpo, the uncle of Phajo Wépa Phagmo Drupa.
