obtained. He became an outstanding scholar and passed away at the age of thirty-one, his work being very immature. Dhaton Ziji was a student of Buddha Wongton. He became a great scholar and made detailed commentaries on the Guhyagarbha Tantra. Most of the history of this lineage seems to have been written by him as well. However, it differs slightly from Yungtonpa's system. Until then, he was known as an expert in illusion and all aspects of the mind. Also, in Yung's commentary, Tsangpa Yishi Ton and Gang Dringpa Nyeton Chokyi Senge, who were both students of the secret lord Sdro Phukpa, were mentioned many times. Both of them spoke to Tsang Nak Odbar. He passed it on to Meton Gonpo, who passed it on to Lama Song, who passed it on to Pakshi Shakya Od. This is the Zur lineage. Zur Wangchen Wopo, who could clearly remember his past and future lives, was an authority of accomplishment and had five daughters. Because he had no sons, he felt sad. When Panchen Shakya Shri was invited to Khro Phur in the year of the Wood Mouse, Wangchen Wopo also invited him to Ukpalung. There, Panchen said, "This place of Ukpalung is adorned with many merits of secret mantras. The mountains on the north side appear to be the nature of the five Buddha families. These birds, wild animals, etc. also appear to be emanations of the noble ones. In each generation, there will appear someone who proclaims the Dharma of secret mantras. Before long, you will have two sons, give them names that are related to my name. This will benefit the teachings and sentient beings." After that, things happened that way. The elder son was named Shakya Gon, and the younger son was named Shakya Od. The older brother was also remarkable. The younger brother, Shakya Od, spoke in a way that manifested wisdom from a young age, and became an ascetic who was able to show all the Dharma through symbols. He relied on Gyalkhampa Lama and listened to all of his father's teachings. Because he saw the Bardo directly, when he went to perform funerary rites for others, he said, "Your dead have not been liberated from Yama, and rituals that are not grasped by Bodhicitta are meaningless." Therefore, he had to redo the funerary rites. One day, he said, "I feel regret." When asked why, he said, "I have always been in the company of Vidyadharas, but because I spoke harshly to my older brother Shakya Gon, from that night on...

He confessed, saying, "If one violates the vows, one cannot enter the ranks of the Vidyadharas." People near Mi nyag Gha ra rose up in rebellion and asked who had the greatest power in Tibet. Having heard of someone called Shakya Od, they sent many gifts and also sent people from a distance of eight months to request power. He said, "I have no power. If you need my staff, take it." He didn't even write a reply. When the messenger told the story, Gha ra got angry and said, "He took my things but doesn't give the instructions." He struck the staff, and from inside came the four deities of Dorje Legpa. He happily practiced, and many paternal lineages were cut off. To purify sins and accumulate merit, temples and stupas were built. To repay the kindness, Mi nyag Gha ra himself came with many offerings, met Zur Shakya Od, practiced many teachings such as the Guhyagarbha Tantra, and together they went to Lhodrak Kharchu. While he was meditating and residing in places such as Mthing lha khang and Spa gro, he met the lord Nyang and his sons, and requested almost all the Nyang traditions such as the Eight Heruka Sadhanas. Then he returned to his own place. Later, Gha ra said, "The Lama is very kind. We are going to the Hor region, so please send someone to serve us in return for the kindness." Then he left. At that time, in the Hor region, the younger brother Ari Bhoga had seized the throne, and King Se chen gan had not obtained the throne and was in a state of war. Se chen gan asked Mi nyag Gha ra, "I heard that there is magic in Tibet, do you know about it?" Gha ra said, "I know. Which of the three should I do: kill, expel, or attract?" Se chen said, "If it is death by karma, then killing is very doubtful. If they want to leave, then expelling is hesitant. If the enemy is trapped in my camp, they certainly don't want to come, so attract them." Then, with Lama Phagpa Rinpoche as a witness, Gha ra began to perform the wind-wheel ritual, The younger brother Ari Bhoga lost his stability and came. Still not believing, he said, "Strike hail in the middle of this lake and this plain." Gha ra struck hail there, and then he believed, became afraid of the mantra practitioners, and gave many rewards. He said, "This is a disciple of Satshal who has obtained the power of Yamantaka." Although that was the case, he eventually obtained the ultimate application of fierce mantras from the Zur tradition.
